But where it all went wrong was that from the beginning of his presidency he rapidly and gaslightingly supported Saudi Arabia, Putin and Turkey and other repressive governments and their henchmen like that.

In addition he completely blew the Covid 19 situation.

And while in 2015 and 2016 his speech was more sophisticated to a degree, and his wits seemed sharper then, he has slowly devolved in the level of sophistication of his speech and he has increased his rudeness and crassness to a point when it is no longer becoming of the highest office in the world.

Carter did/didn't do both of these things because they were the right thing for the country to do even though they caused great personal expense. Now that's a strong leader.
