I'm happy this is happening. Been waiting this division for too long. Although I still think the cruiser limit should be dropped down to 190 for the sake of the light heavyweights wanting to move to.

I think a 190-215ish division would have been better but hey, can't complain.

dmitry or artur should have gone after sergey once he got bambi'ed. how many fights have they had at the weight compared to canelo? these guys can fight top fighters in their own divisions yeh?

Doesn't matter that Bivol nor Beterbiev haven't fought Kovalev. What matters is that Canelo chose to go after Kovalev only after he'd gotten Bambi'ed by Andre Ward (of all people) and then for good measure gotten KO'ed by Eleider Alvarez. Staying with the "meat" analogy... let's just say Kovalev had gotten tenderized ahead of the Canelo fight.

And not to mention that it was the fishiest high level fight I’ve seen. Ive heard different conspiracies of fights over the years but never believe them. Kovalev literally never threw a hard punch the entire fight. He basically only threw weak jabs. I didn’t think that Canelo would be able to take his punch because he hit so hard and was big, but Kovalev literally never threw a hard punch the entire fight which is so unlike him. Every punch he throws is heavy except in the Canelo fight where none were heavy.

Looking good is far different from taking over a division. Beating an alphabet champion in Kov or Ruiz and then running away to not take the top champion is not dominating any division but simply cherry picking.

Looking good is far different from taking over a division. Beating an alphabet champion in Kov or Ruiz and then running away to not take the top champion is not dominating any division but simply cherry picking.

they can only fight one guy at a time. both roy & canelo dropped back down again to take on guys that are considered near the top of their divisions
