No way that should have been stopped there. Too early in my opinion.
Connor Benn blowing his own trumpet a bit I think. Shouting to Eddie from the ring as well.
Eddie sees money development,
Connor wants glory now!
haha

I disagree, knowing how Vargas fights. A standing count would have been more fair. Vargas was taking shots. But he wasn't going down.
If he did go down. Then that would be a fair decision from the ref.
What ever happened to the knockdown rules? nowadays just smother your opponent with good punches and you can win!
A new tactic is born.
Vargas was bashed up properly but I'd have liked to have seen a second chance and Conor putting him to sleep.
Said in first post Benn is massively improved, fast as fuck and every punch is landing.
You stick dedication and boxing fundamental skills into a mini Nigel Benn then you get a dangerous little fighter.
Really starting to think he can crack on and have a real go at a world title.
Amir Khan won't go anywhere near him 😉
It's seriously starting to impress me is Conor Benn 😎
I’ve went from not being that bothered about seeing any of his fights, to now wanting to watch every single fight he has next!
Strange how I sort of expected Josh Kelly to be the one leading the way..
Massive improvement from Benn. I don’t think Khan would go anywhere near him.
A standing count is not permitted in the rules.
There is hardly a body in professional boxing that does have it in the rules (although some do). None of the WBA, WBO, IBF, or WBC have standing 8 counts. It's mostly an amateur thing.
Sometimes (panicking) refs incorrectly give a standing 8 count and that seems to confuse people.
Sometimes fans also think that when a fighter rises from being dropped and the ref continues to count to 8, that's a 'standing 8' count, but obviously it isn't.

Compassionate ref I guess, the way Vargas head was snapping back tells you that he was getting banged out if it continued much longer.
Benns speed is unreal
Without tearing open the can of worms..many fights stopped 'across the pond' at first sign of trouble are just not in the States. Now we get a guy flapping on like he just trumped an actual champion. Irony is that maybe the fact they weren't is what got Vargas opportunity after opportunity
