I can remember there fathers as a kid in the 1990. Back then it was rare to see two black men on prime time viewing. Outside of sports in 1990 UK TV had a silent no blacks policy.

So my family, especially my father used to make a BIG thing about it when it happened.

So Eubank-Benn (the original) has a special place for me.

But there sons fighting ? I dunno it’s almost like Eddie is trying fk up Conor’s welter career like he did Kell Brooks were he gave Kell bk to bk fights against Triple G then Errol Spence. What kinda insane matchmaking is that ?

Conor should b fighting a Josh Taylor, Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, fights to see if he’s ready for the super elites of the welterweights.

As for Chris Jnr ? Next gen ? But he’s 32. Cmon. His dad had pretty much retired by 32.

This has to be a joke no? Especially on Eubank Jnr's end. He's a middle/Super Middle, 32 years old. Never really achieved anything at the highest level. When the Brook fight was floated about he claimed to have bigger fish to fry. Now, he's fighting a welterweight contender. The promotion will be given the big un of course what with their fathers history but this is seriously low rent.

Conor Benn has warned rival Chris Eubank Jr it will be his "last" fight when the pair finally settle their differences.

Eubank Jr and Benn have held talks over a historic grudge match this year that will mirror the rivalry of their legendary fathers in the ring 32 years on. YouTube star Jake Paul has dragged himself into their rivalry this week after criticising Eubank Jr on social media, following news that an announcement of the fight was delayed due to a weight disagreement.

Paul tweeted: "Conor Benn dirty because he doesn’t want Chris Eubank to have a massive size advantage fight night? No, just wants a fair/safe fight. Rahman can weigh-in at any weight fight night. 200 weigh-in, 214 at noon fight-day, any weight fight night. Stop making excuses Jr."

Eubank Jr quickly responded with an intriguing fight call-out, writing: "Yo Jake Paul. Once I deal with Benn and you take care of Rahman how about me and you go for a couple of rounds. I’ll come in at 160lb, you come in at whatever weight you want. Winner gets CANELO. And don’t worry I am not Tommy Fury, if I say I will do something, it gets done."

Benn has now hit back at the pair, adding: "You won’t fight again after you’ve shared the ring with me, I will be your last fight!" A fan questioned why Benn believes he can stop Eubank Jr in response to his reply on Twitter, to which Benn also continued: "Because I’m about to be relentless with this."

Eubank Jr and Benn have reportedly been negotiating a rehydration clause having previously agreed to fight at a catchweight of 156lb. The pair usually compete in different weight classes with Benn currently campaigning at 147lb and his rival eyeing a title shot at 160lb.

Both fighters have been weighing up their options since Benn defeated Chris Van Heerden while Eubank Jr ousted bitter rival Liam Williams. However it appears set that the pair will compete at London's O2 arena in October.

Eubank Jr previously addressed a potential fight claiming that he doubted a meeting would happen in the near future before reports of an agreement now being made. "What a fight that would be, that would be incredible. The two sons, Chris Eubank Jr. Conor Benn," Eubank Jr previously said when talking about a potential fight with iFLTV. "The likelihood of it, I really doubt that it's gonna happen anytime soon. I see that as something that's probably gonna happen in years to come.

"When I've done everything I want to do at middleweight and we want to have a bit of fun down the line, but who knows." He later added: "We're both doing big things in the boxing world. It doesn't make much sense right now. In a couple years, if Conor Benn fills out a little bit and I wanna have a bit of fun, we can get it on."

Benn has been carefully matched as he has a weak chin and doesn't have his dad's power.
This is a money-making circus bout if it happens, nothing more than that.

All professional boxing is about making the most amount of money possible.

They are making this fight, despite the weight disparity, off the back of their dad’s intense rivalry. It is safe to say that both boxers are not as good as their dad’s. If the economics of the fight is right and the weight can be agreed, then this could be a huge event.

Eddie and DAZN have put a lot of effort promoting/protecting Benn as he one of their biggest UK assets. They would not want him damaged as he is young enough to make them some good money. I am surprised they are accepting the risk as this could turn out to be damaging for Conor.

Eubank Junior should be ashamed that he is even contemplating this fight and shows you how far away he is away from world level. He is turning himself into a social media boxer closer to Jake/Logan Paul than real boxer.

Chris Eubank Sr will be in his son's corner when Chris Eubank Jr faces Conor Benn in their catchweight fight on 8 October.

The bout will take place 30 years after their fathers shared one of the most iconic rivalries in boxing history.

Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn fought twice, with Eubank Sr winning the first fight in 1990, while the second, three years later, ended in a split decision draw.

"My old man will be in my corner once again," Eubank Jr tweeted on Friday.

Eubank Jr joined the professional ranks in 2011 and has recorded 32 wins and two defeats while Benn has won all 21 bouts since turning professional in 2016, with 14 knockouts.

The fight between Eubank Jr, 32, and Benn, 25, at London's O2 Arena will have a catchweight limit as each fight at different weights.

Benn boxes at welterweight (147lbs) while Eubank Jr has operated at both middleweight (160lbs) and super-middleweight (168lbs).

The pair will meet at a catchweight of 156 pounds.

Chris Eubank Jr doesn’t have a hope in hell of beating Canelo Alvarez, Jermall Charlo or Gennady Golovkin, Conor Benn‘s promoter Eddie Hearn has claimed.

Benn and Eubank will battle it out on October 8 at London’s iconic O2 Arena, almost 30 years after their dads’ famous rematch.

Due to the difference in size between the two fighters, a catchweight is believed to have been agreed at 157lb, meaning Benn will have to put on a few pounds from his usual 147lb weight class.

Eubank meanwhile has spent most of his career competing at middleweight at 160lb, though he has previously campaigned as high as super-middleweight at 168lb.

If he wins, he could target a world title shot against the likes of Canelo, Charlo and Golovkin.

However, Hearn doesn’t think he would stand much of a chance as he believes they are levels above him at the moment.

But that doesn’t mean to say that he thinks that he isn’t a good boxer – far from it in fact.

Speaking on The DAZN Boxing Show, when asked to assess Eubank’s resume, Hearn said: “If you’re looking at wins, Chris Eubank Jr beat a faded James DeGale.

“But he still beat a James DeGale. He had a good fight with George Groves. I know that George was injured at the end of the fight and going into that fight, but you know, I rate Eubank.

“I think he’s tough as granite. He’s got a great chin like his dad.

“But I don’t see him necessarily as an elite middleweight. I think he’s a world class middleweight, but I don’t believe he beats any of the good [fighters], the world champions at middleweight. I don’t think he beats Charlo, Golovkin, of course, Canelo, of course, but listen, it’s a massive fight for him.

“You talk about Conor Benn winning this fight, if Eubank wins this fight, I think he can fight a Gennady Golovkin in the UK or a Canelo Alvarez at Wembley. So it’s a massive fight for both [fighters].”

Eubank heads into his all-British clash with Benn as the big favourite with the bookies.

As Hearn mentioned, Eubank has tasted defeat twice before – being outpointed by both George Groves and Billy Joe Saunders.

However he enters the bout coming off the back of arguably the best performance of his career to date against the dangerous Liam Williams.

Benn, meanwhile, has yet to taste defeat from his 21 fights, with 14 of his victories coming by way of knockout.
