Truth be told I've always leaned a bit more Republican than Democrat in the past (pre-Trump).

Not that some of the top players in the Democratic Party are anything to write home about nowadays, but IMO the Republican Party of today isn't worth spit.

Yes and they label them crooks and criminals and anti American and literally commence and end every single rally with endless chanting of lock them up. "Lock them all up" and get your t shirt and little hats with logos. They literally target their political opponents and literally ask for assistance on "evidence" collection from a Communist Country on the WH front lawn. They target the press and label them an enemy of the State and bar them from official events. They spend years targeting and publicly railing against law enforcement agencies as "scum" and "crooks" and replace the heads of these entities with yes men. They also send Federalized prison guards and agents into US Cities circumventing local and State Government. This list is actually quite long, we lived it live.

He's a private citizen he's not a God. Actions have consequences. You know, the whole "we're the party of law and order". That is so far gone from this party its but a speck in the rearview mirror. And you know what..it's a shame.

Chanting lock her up at a rally/selling t-shirts/calling crooked FBI agents crooks vs. raiding someone's house/getting phony FISA warrants using known fake docs is the same? I think your comparisons are off. All I have to say on that. But I respect your opinion and your right to have it 100%, and not looking to debate it as we see it 180 degrees different.

The radicalization of a party with a heavy front foot into authoritarianism is what ol bwoy has given and green lighted for Republicans and they're running blindly into it. Investigations were had and agent careers ended if we're doing 'whataboutism'. This however stems from Trump knowingly misleading and apparently committing crime in taking and/or destroying and refusing to return top secret documents. This didn't just fall out of the sky, agents were there in the beginning of this year too. Yes we all have opinion you have as much right as the next man. There is no malice here. I however will not be condoning or fanning a repeat of that anarchist like violent shit show we saw on the 6th.

Apparently suffering from short-term memory loss, having forgotten the coercing and strong-arming of elected state officials by Herr Trumpf to scrounge up more votes or just plain perform whatever shady maneuvers necessary to (cough) "stop the steal."

The radicalization of a party with a heavy front foot into authoritarianism is what ol bwoy has given and green lighted for Republicans and they're running blindly into it.

This is the problem for the GOP. Twenty years of Fox daily hype/manufactured outrage/bullshit and you had a Republican base that were terrified of the way the world was going and wanted somebody to fight for them. Trump just hit the sweet spot perfectly. His election coincided with a nice burst of peace and prosperity that he got the credit for and his claims of a stolen election mean he isn't seen as a loser and unelectable by his base. His grip on the party and its voters is so strong that all senior GOP members including DeSantis are circling the wagons and defending him even before any of the facts come out.


This raid is a gift from god for DeSantis and the other 2024 hopefuls and not one of them has the balls to come out and say Trump might have done something illegal. You have Trump, his lawyers and then a variety of pols including senators today claiming that the FBI might have planted evidence and the guy who took the fifth today to every question today from investigators looking into various fraudulent schemes Trump was running in New York is the innocent party here being railroaded by the gestapo FBI.



None of these fuckers can beat Trump in the primaries without attacking him and nobody will. They're all terrified of becoming the next Mike Pence and being primaried by some MAGA goon and booted out of politics by Trump's voters. It's Trump's party until he says so and there's nothing any of them can do about it other than kiss the ring.
