I'm going to take Sugar at the lower weights. I was never big on Spence. Sugar knew how to deal with thumpers and I think had the stamina and footwork to sentence Spence to death by a thousand cuts. I don't think Spence is as much of tank as Basilio was and you can see Sugar using many of the same type of inside counters on over reaching opponents that Crawford used on Spence. Some people will say Spence was changed by the accident, I personally don't believe it makes a difference. The method would have the same and it wasn't the weight, power or timing but the precision, that took Spence apart. Bud knew everything Spence was going to do before it happened and it allowed him to be stand fearlessly and counter when Spence thought he would be covering or on the run. Sugar would be able get a lot of the same work done against Spence.

This seems a bit left field for me, but SRR for me. Probably disrespectful to SRR putting his name in with someone who probably isn’t in the top 100 all-time, whereas SRR is probably top 3 maybe top 1, definitely top 5.
