Crawford is wrapped in cotton wool, training in the gym, putting on some weight and ready for slaughter in September. There is no risk of him facing anyone in the interim.

There are some hardcore fans that I normally respect which argue that this is a legitimate super fight and that we should not be so critical. They just can not see the manufactured nature of this event. So blatant and desperate and it needs to be called out.
Also Scull is much of a world champion as Dubois is at heavyweight. None.

A little bit harsh on Dubois. There have probably been way less worthy champions than Dubois, why pick on him.
Usyk is the man , we know that. But we also know there are usually multiple champions at every weight.
It’s not unusual that a 4th or 5th rated guy in the division becomes a champion .
Dubois beat Joshua, that’s not a bad scalp, and while I’m not saying he’s a World beater, he’s as deserving as anyone else in the division outside Usyk.
Former Undisputed 4 belt Prediction champion. Still P4P and People’s Champion.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Btw I don’t know why I’m sticking up for Dubois. I don’t think he’s all that, but with what else is out there and I respect what he did to Joshua.

Even some "hardcore fans" (quote marks on purpose) can suffer from a crass lack of objectivity. Calling this sham a "legitimate super fight" is being delusional at best. That's the problem with being a fanatic. You see everything through rose-tinted glasses, and are unable to call out garbage fights when they involve your object of devotion. So yeah... it needs to be called out.
And yes... we agree on Scull. Not sure I would dump on Dubois very much... but Scull is another story. A classic paperweight, holding onto a belt until he loses (probably by KO) to Canelo. Will obviously be dressed up as another legitimate championship fight. But we've already discussed why this isn't even close to being worthy.

Classic.
This isn't me. This isn't Saddo'er Canelo hater, TitoFan. This is a respected fellow Mexican raking Ginger over the coals for his current and recent choice of opponents.
His own countrymen are just as fed up with the circus as the rest of us real boxing fans.
Priceless...

(ahem)
I was going to start a new thread, but no need.
It's finally official.
https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/...clash-crawford
"Canelo Alvarez cruises, locks up Sept. 12 clash with Crawford"
So he dispatches that worthy and "oh-so-dangerous" opponent... William Scull was it?
And now sets his sights on yet another opponent from several divisions south of him.
LET THE HYPE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!! (drum roll, please)
This would be what... the THIRD little guy Canelo will be feasting upon? (Someone help me out here).
Let's see... first there was Khan, that annoying mosquito buzzing around the ring until Canelo connected one meaningful punch and... end of fight.
Then there was Jermell, who promised great things but was still coming from two divisions down. Predictable borefest.
And now here comes Bud trotting in. With yet ANOTHER FUKKING two division jump.
Wait... it's actually THREE divisions. As only deluded fans will say that Bud is actually a super welter... WHERE HE ONLY HAD ONE FIGHT... and looked less than his dominant welter self.
A Hollywood ending to a Hollywood script. (Can't afford having a real opponent ruin the movie rights that are sure to come, am I right?).
Let's recap...
1. Ginger gets humiliated by Bivol when he tries to go up to light heavy.
2. He then drags a 40-year old man to super middle, for a third go-round, even though the first two times the judges robbed the other guy of a deserved victory.
3. Fights John Ryder. Fair enough. Let's not hate for the sake of hating. But this is the guy who had previously lost to that "ATG", Rocky Fielding.
4. Fights little Jermell (see above).
5. Beats Mungia. WAIT!!! Isn't Mungia Mexican?? I'm confused. Didn't Ginger say he doesn't fight Mexicans when he DUCKED David Benavidez??
6. Beats Berlanga. Nice one for the movie. Plays into the Mex-PR rivalry thing. Except Berlanga was always overrated. Gave it a good effort, though.
7. Beats William fukking Scull. No comments necessary, right? Even ardent Canelo fans know this was a piece of shet fight. (Predictably so, I might add).
8. THE GRAND FINALE!!! The great welterweight (but soon to be hyped as a real danger to Canelo).... Bud Crawford.
Grand finale, did I say? You bet. After beating the mega-hyped Crawford, does anyone in their right mind think Canelo is going to risk damaging the end of his career with a real challenge?? Much less a (shudder) LOSS??
No. The script is written. The money's on the table. Hell... the only question is whether they'll find a credible actor to play Canelo's part... or whether Canelo will decide no one is handsome enough and take acting lessons himself.
I'll keep on repeating what I've said for years.
I CAN'T WAIT TILL THIS OVERHYPED BOZO IS GONE FROM BOXING.

I just can't see Crawford winning this. It is too high a jump. I would love it if Crawford could pull it off but it will not happen. This had a long run of promotion, hype, and build up that it will end up as an anticlimax.
