down again, gets up & falls into the corner. ref lets it go. keyshawn comes in for the kill & it's all over in the second

I really like that Keyshawn Davis paid homage to the original Sweet Pea Whitaker at the start of his ring entrance.
The fight was short and destructive from Keyshawn Davis. Glad he won with the weight abuse of his opponent.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Love to see a fighter shoring up hometown roots and the Scope arena hosting boxing again. The whole Davis lot made a night of it. Very satisfying batteri9ng Keyshawn put on a multi time weight scale cheat and he executed with the chip on his shoulder that's been needed. You can see the work he's been doing with Crawford coming out. No wasted shots and throwing with a slicing accuracy. Wasted no time in calling on Tank "knock knock"and with the so so route Tank has been in opposition lets have it.
They/we/boxing really needs to up the blowing weight intentionally issue. Cleary what Lemos and camp did and then right before the bell he was at 155+! It's been going on a very long time, starting with some of the bigger names and now trickling down to lesser guys being giving huge opportunities. I've been convinced for a while that the small penalty is factored in pre fight. Small price to pay for added advantage that increases chances of a W they can make up down the line with another "big" payday. Well except for Lemos. Sort of blew up in his face at the hands of Davis. Start handing out suspensions, strip ranks or go the Japan route and flat ban them if it's multi time. You sign a professional contract, honor it or move your non-efforting tubby arse up.

Looks like it's Denys Berinchyk for the wbo title February 14th in Ney York. Tricky fight with no guarantees but I think Davis rises to the occasion. Coincidentally Tank fights 2 weeks later at Barclays in New York. Never too soon to start a rivalrybut first things first, Berinchyk is no pushover and very capable. Hope it all holds together.
Well...I thought he was cut different from so many of the younger up and coming 'stars' today. Turns out in this most recent instance he's exactly the same and cannot express enough just how disappointing and frustrating it is as a fan. There is no doubt that Davis intentionally missed weight and knew full well he wasn't going to make the 135 prior to yesterday! This tactic has been going for years now but it's just blatant lately. Young star grabs their first intro belt and momentum...head gets inflated and starts fancying themselves as already well established and worthy of the very best and the biggest $. The trinket aka belt is merely transactional, and they game the system...drop the belt on the scale, blow weight, stay comfortable and have further advantages vs the somewhat 'name' opponent, factor in the small'ish fine to be recouped on future earnings in bigger name fights and purses. Only THIS time the right call was made and the fight was completely cancelled! Team Davis assumed they had worked out a catchweight with De Los Santos and more money but after rethinking the situation they declined the fight for safety concerns. They assumed De Los Santos would just be happy to be there, and it would go like so many other, oops. It's a nasty situation as it directly penalizes the fighter who did everything right and honored their professional contract. Not sure how the fine situation works out but even with no fight the same fine should be assessed on Keyshawn and De Los Santos be paid that at least. Keyshawn looks like an unprofessional fool and blows a major opportunity to fight in front of his hometown fans in a premium primetime slot. There are many negative things in boxing we fans just get sick and tired of...terrible judges and bad decisions, bigger names not facing big names but young fighters blowing weight and ripping up contracts they agreed to is right up there more and more. Especially ones calling themselves "The Businessman".
i'm glad to hear edwin is getting his full purse

that's what i heard. keyshawn really blew it here. wasted money on his training camp & thought he could pull one over on the "b-side" fighter & they'd just roll over. apparently they offered fifty percent more to edwin & his team stood strong & said no. keyshawn loses his belt, a hometown fight. bob won't be happy. they need to start handing out one year bans for missing weight

there was also some type of altercation between nahir albright who defeated keyshawns brother kelvin on the card, in his locker room after the fight where it's alleged that keyshawn & his other brother keon confronted him

This. Precisely.
Seems like the bar is going lower and lower. Not only that... but it's becoming the almost expected "norm." Total disregard for the sport, the opponent, and the fans. Eventually, time dulls all memories and it's back to business as usual. Meanwhile, damage has been done to a sport that certainly doesn't need any help losing fans. This is just a bunch of C.R.A.P. I saw where @TIC suggested a one-year ban for missing weight. Yeah... I'd be ok with that. Put some consequences into the equation. Otherwise, these bozos will continue making a laughingstock out of the sport.
