dana now has money behind him so i see tko making some noise for a year or so before starting to fall off. a league type structure doesn't seem to work for boxing. we could see boxing split for awhile like golf with the pga & liv. i hope the competition brings some positives to the sport, less sanctioning bodies, less belts, more active fighters. i'd prefer to see individual promoters act as teams, facing off against each other in the five v five type stuff we've seen recently, a split will only last so long because it won't be the best v the best. i read turki is no longer interested in dmitry v david benavidez & won't bid on that fight, i guess turki wants the artur trilogy. i wonder if we'll see the ring strip dmitry if he defends against david b. the ring has history & used to mean something but those days are now over. the model that works best is the wbss, but on a bigger scale, all divisions & going deeper with second & third tiers to build & showcase fighters & keep them active

Welp, Tyson Fury ranked number 1 in latest Ring rankings. Gonna have to call BS on that one. Ring being nothing more than a marketing rag for a soon to be announced comeback. Turki just loves him some Fury.

I don't refer to ring ratings any more since he bought it. Sad times

But looking at that list i'm not sure who I'd put above Fury. I know he says he's retired but was he removed at all? Thought they kept people on there till they'd been inactive for a year

Fair to say announcing your retirement is basically removing yourself . But you know...I'd actually put Dubois ahead sticking with the ol saying "you're as good as your last recent fight(s)". In the time Fury arguably phoned it in with a literal novice and taken back to back L's, Dubois has come back from an injury that ruins more than a few fighters and run thru 3 opponents in dominating fashion right back into a deserved unification.

turki came out basically saying they didn't want boring fighters on their ring/ riyadh cards & then puts lawrence okolie on the oleksandr v daniel undercard

Not surprisingly they saw fit to elevate Moses Itauma into the top 10 after Whytte. Know what would have been a respectable course...requiring Itauma to actually defeat Ajagba before just dropping him from top 10 and handing his ranking over.

I’m old school and like hard physical copies of magazines, comics, music and games.

I am old....[school]..... and I also love hard physical copies of written material. I like the feeling of the pages and like the smell of the paper especially as it has gotten older. I love old baseball cards from 1972.

It is not only nostalgia, it is a return to sanity, it is a return to physical things that we can touch, it brings us to a simpler time again when we did not swipe up with our fingers and lose our eyesight peering at tiny dim screens.

i don't mind both for practical reasons. i'd never be able to buy or have access to everything i want to read physically, so digital fills those gaps & if i really like something i'll try to get a physical copy. music & movies i'm all about high quality lossless digital format, mainly because it takes up so little room, i've got several terabytes of both on drives that take up less space than a couple of books. i prefer my own digital copies of movies & tv shows to streaming because i always have access to them, not just when a streaming platform chooses to list them. games i prefer physical copies, so i basically own it, i can usually always pop in a disc & play it offline, with the way the gaming digital market is going i won't be surprised if they start removing digital stuff & people won't have access to stuff they paid for & thought they owned
