well they do it both ways.....reach is finger tip to fingertip which means a
guy with wider shoulders and the same reach does have shorter arms,obviously. Thats why fighters need to stand at an angle and move the jabbing shoulder forward to increase their jab length rather than standing squared up. (just one of many reasons i know i know!)
more recently I'm seeing arm length as well which to my knowledge is still to the end of the finger tip from the armpit. If there is a person who can post a rule from a officiating body on that please do. It may not be in a rule book since its just the stuff they post for info and not a official measurement or criteria .I'm 6'4" (76") and have a 78" reach
