Pac 5rds - JMM 7rds

113 - 112 Pacman

here are the compu box numbers for the fight and some notes
Pac-JMM
1. 13-11
2. 18-8 (pisses me off when JMM fans/Pac haters say JMM won 11 rounds in this fight and they include the 2nd round, Pac had more than twice as many punches landed and looked great again in this round only thing missing was a knockdown, you dont give a fighter a round for surviving an expected massacre)
3. 9-12
4. 12-12
5. 9-16
6. 5-16
7. 19-16
8. 8-11 (funny, this and the 1st round were the only rounds the judge that had JMM winning the fight gave to Pacman, but i had Pac losing in this round)
9. 15-16
10. 18-12
11. 13-15
12. 11-11

when it all comes down to it. officially Pacman should of won it but one of the judges didnt know how to score correctly, if they can take back incorrect math for the draw in Barrera vs. Juarez 1 why cant they take back human error in this fight. and to the JMM fans who think it is JMM who got robbed, all i can say is, there are thousands of fights where the judges saw it one way but the fans saw it the other, but i can only think of one fight when a judge said "oops i screwed up, can i fix it?" that would of changed the outcome of the fight.
Saw the fight again. Both fighters were pretty banged up. But I have to agree that it should not have been a technical draw. A lot of JMM backers crow that Manny was schooled in this fight but in my opinion, what was amazing was how JMM crawled back from what should have been a loss to earn a controversial draw. I don't think JMM won the fight. IMO Pacman should have won convincingly but did not. Over confidence after the knockdowns perhaps? I saw Manny trying to knock out Marquez instead of trying to win the fight. It was not defeat that I saw in Manny's eyes at the end of the fight but more of frustration. Remember, this fight was before his so called boxing improvements became evident. I think Pacman learned a lot from this fight as with the first fight with EM.

I can almost see a different outcome if they fight again. Manny knows he can hurt Marquez. Marquez will again rely on his counter punching skills thinking that Manny will not have an answer for this (what else does he have in his arsenal - power? Manny can take his best punches). Freddie Roach knows this and will probably come up with a strategy to over power marquez and neutralize his counter punching abilities. The danger with Manny is that you don't know what to expect anymore. He continuous to evolve. Very unpredictable. This to me will be the fight to define Manny's pursuit of being acknowleged as the best of the best. Defeating a master counter puncher will be a large feather in Manny's hat.
