His jumprope must be pretty thin then, mine's not too light it would just take a couple days for the leather to become pliable enough. Well next time you find yourself at the shop you outta see if they some of those mats. I don't think one is enough because obviously you have to move around.

Did you know there's such a thing as jump rope competitions? I was looking up tricks before and I found there are plenty of teams with routines just like dance coreography. Alot of it combines breakdancing, dancing/hip-hop with a jumprope, anyways it's pretty wild stuff.

I like some of the ideas in Buddy Lee's book, establish how long you're going to go and a baseline (# of reps) that you can improve on. Right now I keep it basic, I move around, skip double-unders and do the criss-cross to break the monotony.
