It is easy to say that Calzaghe and Kessler's fights have drawn bigger crowds than the 'Blaze of Glory' card last night... but they were pretty much fighting in their backyards. Joe was fighting in an 80,000 seater stadium too. If you stick Manny in front of a Filipino crowd in the Philippines, he will sell out the arena just as much as Joe and Mikkel. It is the same everywhere... here in Ireland, Bernard Dunne easily sells out whatever arena he is fighting in... John Duddy will most likely do the same when he is here in the near future too.
Fact is, the fighters who make it big in the USA know that is where to stay if you want to make the most amount of $$$, get the biggest fights and the most recognition. All the biggest names have made their names and cash fighting there... Joe Louis, Marciano, Ali, Dempsey, Frazier, Foreman, Tyson, Trinidad, De La Hoya, Hearns, Hagler, Ray Leonard, Ray Robinson, Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones... I could go on.

your right man..... just take the larios vs pac for instance.. even the crooks and mobsters in the philippines stopped and watch the fight coz it happend in their backyard.... but the money making heaven for boxing is in the US
