Default Manny Pacquiao vs. Jorge Solis - not sold out only 14,793!

Why on earth should Kessler or Calzaghe go to the states? Boxing is dead there.

    Calzaghe vs. Manfredo +35000
    Kessler vs. Andrade +20000

The money is in Europe now in Boxing.

Tell that to two certain fighters on May 5th.
The vast majority of the biggest fights in the history of boxing have taken place in the USA... it has always been and will most likely always be like that.
It is easy to say that Calzaghe and Kessler's fights have drawn bigger crowds than the 'Blaze of Glory' card last night... but they were pretty much fighting in their backyards. Joe was fighting in an 80,000 seater stadium too. If you stick Manny in front of a Filipino crowd in the Philippines, he will sell out the arena just as much as Joe and Mikkel. It is the same everywhere... here in Ireland, Bernard Dunne easily sells out whatever arena he is fighting in... John Duddy will most likely do the same when he is here in the near future too.
Fact is, the fighters who make it big in the USA know that is where to stay if you want to make the most amount of $$$, get the biggest fights and the most recognition. All the biggest names have made their names and cash fighting there... Joe Louis, Marciano, Ali, Dempsey, Frazier, Foreman, Tyson, Trinidad, De La Hoya, Hearns, Hagler, Ray Leonard, Ray Robinson, Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones... I could go on.

well a couple of things bro:

    1) oscar cockblocked pac man by making HBO part of the injunciton to not promote or show the pac man fight until the legal case is clear. so HBO could not have helped promote or even pretend the fight was even taking place for the matter so that obviously hurt the numbers

    2) Texas is real close to mexico so the majority of the demographic was of latino descent so pac man didnt have his core fan base demographic targeted in good ole texas.

now if the fight was in LA, SF, Hawaii, and of course VEGAS then u know this mother would break records!

i agree, and the thing is joe or mikkel may sell out arenas in their homecountry :P yea so pac would do the same too plus he'd do it in the states too. if a fighter sells out in vegas then that is a true feat not when he sells out arenas in his home country. that should happen if not then you have no chance of selling out arenas in u.s.a the biggest stage in the entire world.

yea 35000 people getting rip off by warren, in the states you don't have a fight card like that and get 35000 fooled.

blaze of glory had 100times better fight card. now that is a true boxing event. not the joke fights warren put together.

actually boxing is dead there not here, true competitions are here in the states. that was horrible the guy kahn fought was just suppose to be a fan from the stand watching joe fight that night. hell joe should of just pick a fan who came to watch that night and defended for the 20th time. basically that is how dead boxing is there. just a bunch of pampered fighter, fighting bums.

Pac, cock blocked himself by agreein to GBP deal and then back peddling.
GBP could have easily NOT accepted the money Pac returned to them. GBP was actually nice enough to accept the money back AFTER Pac had agreed to GBP. If anyone here is to be blamed it's Pac for making that choice, no one made that aggreement with GBP but himself.

Let's get that straight, that night at the dinner table it was Pac & ODLH and no one else.

How about Calzaghe fight somewhere OTHER then England or Wales and we'll see what the numbers are.

Calzaghe was fighting in his backyard..

    Pacquiao wasn't.

Want to compare numbers of Manny fighting in the Phillipines and Joe in Wales

I bet then you'd say the money in boxing was in the Phillipines by your way of judging it

dude so if lets say it was MAB, EM, Arce, or JMM u'd be saying the same thing?

oscar promised no BS or politics and he would be in the best interest of the fighters and for the sport. this clearly is not what he promised.

Yes I would. SHIT!! I've and I still blame JMM & RM for whats happened to them.
I blame Margarito for waiting around on PBF and now hes getting the shaft from Arum.
Ultimately the FIGHTERS have to be responsible for what happens in their careers.
Look at Zahir Raheem, he beats the then P4P Erik and then hes disappears into obscurity.
IMO when shit! like that happens it's the fighters fault.
And yes ODLH did promise that but the HBO move was a GBP & TOP RANK thing that IS tied into PAC.
If Pac didn't wan't any drama the HE should have NEVER met with GBP. All he needed to do was say NO, I'm not interested.
That would have been that, cause I doubt GBP would have kidnapped him and put a gun to his temple.
He (Pac) made that choice he should have thought about it before meeting with GBP.
Anytime one is about to make a choice one has to weigh the pros and cons, looks like he didn't.

no your right pac aint exactly guilt free on this one. hes obviously partially to blame as well. but when oscar waiting for him at LAX Soprano style with a brief case or whatever the situation was Oscar too has to consider ok if Pac does actually sign my papers there will be reprocussions with Arum atleast on the legal scale. Oscar is intelligent to know that.
