More than just a good reference tool as it's a good learning tool as well, as a big part of getting any move down is to get the feel for it, and repetition from then onward.

The big "Aw" comes from seeing it for yourself. Just think about all the poor trainers that are nagging their fighters over and over what they're doing wrong, but they don't see it for themselves. Just looking at yourself on the tv or in the mirror can almost be an awakening experience.
Chris, very true, but the mirror doesn't replace sparring because in sparring you are truly pressure tested. You WILL tend to do things different in sparring as opposed to in front of a mirror. But you're right...the mirror is very valuable.

Hazmat, a LOT of guys drop their left when they throw the right but it doesn't really register until you see it. I filmed some bag work of myself and saw how low my hands really were, when all the while I thought I kept them up pretty good. They we OK, but not GREAT. The tape helped correct it. Seeing is believing.

for the other people who drop theleft when they throw the right, try this drill.. put your left hand out as though you've just thrown a jab. Then throw you're right, but treat it as though a requirement for throwing the right is that you pull you're left back just as hard and bring it to your cheek. ie, the right is almost "induced" by the left coming back. the left triggers the right.
