That was a fight that warrants a huge payday. That was two guys trying to beat each other up.

Very impressive. I think the body shots broke Miranda down very hard shots in the first round. Hats off to both guys both showed strong chins and great willingness to fight. I don't know if Miranda was weight drained or just drained from the shots by Pavlik.

But Miranda's face looked like hamburger, that is some serious power.

I don't think Taylor wants to fight Pavlik.

Fabulous fight and what a performance by Kelly Pavlik.

He took the fight to Miranda and put him on the backfoot straight away. Miranda to his credit took alot of big bombs early on.

The HBO commentary team mentioned several times that Miranda had weight problems? Is that true?
He certainly seemed to lack snap in his punches.

I think Miranda can comeback from this defeat especially if he was weight drained while I hope and think that Pavlik can dethrone boring Jermain Taylor.

Did everyone else notice Miranda had 31 seconds of recovery time after the 1st knockdown and 17 seconds recovery time after the 2nd knockdown

Steve Smoger is almost as useless as Jay Nady and Richard Steele

Yeah I saw how long it took after the knockdowns. Larry Marchant is the man you guys. Giving Jermain Taylor shit hard core to his face. Hollering about the knockdown delays. Talking about boxing should really do something. I don't agree that there is anything wrong with the gloves though. Fuck Pavlik would have killed Miranda if he had less padding. ha ha ha. Even Lampley was bitching hard core about the judge that gave the fight to Spinks. Although this could be more his suck-ass loyalty to HBO fighters.

Speaking of HBO fighters......I love it when one of them loses like Miranda or looks shitty like Taylor. They get to be too much for me.

More than stamina. It was skill, a legitimate gameplan he used, and being aggressive. Pavlik could have played it safe as Lennox Lewis suggested but he kept with his plan and executed perfectly.

Come on man, your guy was an underdog and he won. Props to him now carry yourself with a little more class then that. They weren't haters, he was the less experienced of the two and Miranda was a wrecking ball. Thats not hate it's just a close fight.
Riddle me this batman.. Usallaly underdogs lose alot of the rounds and come from behind with a shocking knockout like Freddy Cuiriel did to Ross Minter. This was a one sided thrashing.

of course he spit his mouth piece out. He had half a break to recover. It should have been over in the 6th.

"One-sided thrashings" are boring. Last night's fight was an exciting war, with both fighters giving and taking. Pavlik himself said afterwards that Miranda hits "like a mule." So although the KO was devastating and Pavlik's win was totally conclusive, the fight was far from a "one-sided thrashing", IMO.

Suppose it didnt make any difference to the end result but it annoys me when a fighter gets extra recovery time . If he landed a lucky shot on Pavlik after that there would have been uproar .

Pavlik and Spinks would be a dcent fight .They were the winners last night IMO

Great battle. Pavlik showed more refined boxing skills than Miranda, but Miranda showed a big heart. What surprised me a little was that Miranda was backing up most of the time since the beginning of the fight. However, when he decided to fight at the center of the ring he made a lot better, hitting Pavlik with couple of good right hands. Probably, at this time the punishment that Miranda was receiving had the damage done. But, it was a great fight.

Im not one to say I told you so, but i told you so Pavlik did what he said, and let his fists do the talking. Maybe Mirandas jaw was tired from runnin nonstop, so he couldnt take those shots. I also would like to add F*** Jim Lampley you woman beating bitch. Get off my dog Steve Smoger , one of the best refs out there, you know nothing shut the fuck up!! I give Miranda some credit, he has alot of heart, no skill but alot of heart.
