Default My grant gloves arrived. They're HUGE!!!!

So I got them in 16oz so that when I spar with the gyms sparring gloves I would be used to the weight.
I'll be using them for all gym work ('cept sparring)

They feel awesome and my hands fit snuggly inside but they look massive. They make my arms look really thin and they go over half way over my forearm.

How far down your forearm does your glove go?

dude, of course they're huge... you're comparing them to frikkin 8oz BAG GLOVES for cri'sakes. They're meant to be used for sparring, not on the bag. and they're not that big. In fact, they actually run smaller than most Ringside or Title brand sparring gloves.

They look more like bag gloves than sparring gloves to me.

They're a touch bigger than my 16oz ones... but not that much. They do cover an alarming length of your forearm mind... how long are your arms!? :P

If they were any bigger they'd leave stretch marks on my lcd screen.

Anyways can you make a good proper tight fist in them?

yeah with wraps on I can make a fist, the fit feels good but now I feel insecure about the length of my arms :P

I'm going to check the average length of the male arm

My cleto's are like that.. When you strap them up they almost go down to my elbow.. Well not quite but they definetly go a decent way up your forarm. And anyone that has Cleto's knows that they have a lot of padding up the forearm to put weight behind the punches, which makes it feel even more like they are going right up your forearm..

Thanks for the pictures!!! I'm still looking forward to ordering my Grants in a week or 2. Your's look awesome..

I might take a couple of pictures of mine and post up here as well.

2 Pictures of my girlfriends Ringside 12oz gloves and my 16oz Cletos...

When her Ringside gloves arrived, I thought they were amazing.. And still do when I pull them on. They are really well designed and just fit so snug in all the right ways. The padding feels great, and I would have claimed them for myself if they weren't pink... Of course I didn't expect that much, but they were twice as good as the gloves I was using, so I ordered the cleto's... They are quite large as well and make the ringside ones look small. I should have put my everlast bag gloves next to them, they were half the side of the pink ones again...

Anyway, we should have everyone post pictures of their gloves.

Nah, they're intended more for sparring. In the Campeon line of Grant gear, there is a glove that looks similar but is black and is 12oz. THAT'S the bag glove. Voodoo is about the break down a nice pair of gloves for no reason.

    Diz,

which Grants are you getting? Campeons or the more expensive pro training gloves? I have the campeon lace up and like them very much.... but I think I told you if I had the money to waste I'd have got the pros!

Imagine getting hit by these gloves, by the way you move the padding away from the knuckles.

I asked about a month ago the difference between bag gloves and training gloves....
A glove is a glove, I'm not hurting its feelings by only using it on the bag!

    Nice gloves Dizaster!

na, but your hurting your sparing partners feelings by using your bag gloves on his face. The key difference that I can tell between bag and sparing gloves is that sparing gloves have a leather or cloth covering for the velcro or laces so you don't scratch a guys face all up. They also tend to have more padding on the knuckle area and weigh more then bag glove. Other than that I'd say it doesn't really matter.

I havn't quite decided yet. I was looking at the campeons,,, but i've been looking on the Grant website, and getting some custom colored gloves would be really cool. I'm going to contact them sometime and see what the cost is and what they can do with them and stuff like that.. So I suppose if I went that way i'd probably get the Pro ones... I'll need to save up for a little longer though... But I don't go shopping and treat myself very much at all, so I think I earn splashing out every now and then..

In those pictures though, even the non pro ones still look solid as hell... So can't go wrong either way..
