I use tape so I don't have to make as much passes around my palm when I wrap my hands. As I've said before it's important that when it comes to handwraps that I can make a nice tight fist. Too much wraps over my palms prevents me in doing so. Basically I just fold it a few times over my knuckles for a good cushion and I tape it down so it doesn't get undone before I wrap in between my fingers. I saw this done at another gym and I stuck with it ever since. Wrapping in between the fingers keeps it from moving and gives a little support to the whole thing.
using the long wrap. you want to come over the knuckles and bring it back and forth several times over the knuckle in order to build a pillow.. then wrap around the palm and in between the fingers over the pillow you created. its much easier and leaves you with no bulk in the palm region of the hand , for easy close fist. very effective in protecting the hand.
That's exactly what I said. I find that a piece of tape helps hold it in place before I get to wrapping in between the fingers. I think a good wrap feel like a strong wrist, a firm handshake, and cushioned knuckles. It shouldn't prevent you from making a good tight fist.
