Default Odd design for facial protection, no?

Does anyone know anything about this style of headgear? The supposed virtues are that it prevents facial contact, but I personally don't see how that's possible. I would THINK that your nose is just waiting to be crushed since it seems to rest right on it.

    Anyone know? Thanks......

Very weird - I find it hard to believe it's easy to see wearing this too.

I really don't like anything bulkier than my top ten because most head guards mess with my peripheral vision but I've never tried something with a centre piece that goes between your eyes aswell!

On top of all that there's nothing around the jaw area at all!

That sort of thing have been about for years Von they are crap. I remeber someone getting one and only wearing it once and was pissed off with it. Never wore it again.

I don't know what they were thinking. It's awkword, hard to see, hard to breath... Say this'd make a great piece of headgear! It says that it was brought back by popular demand too. Maybe around Holloween it's so.

    Hate that design..

I don't like the head gear much either. yet I wear one with a singal bar accross the face, usually during the last stages of sparring , right before a match, It's piss on your fire , to sustain a cut or broken nose right before your match trust me.

Myself & my stablemates have used one along these lines & also the one with the bar acroos the mouth area in the past. The only time that we would use them was if we had an injury (laceration, broken nose, etc...) & still sparred. They have blind spots & feel awkward but they were actually useful in these cases.
