I too live in an apartment complex, although it's no problem at all to me as I'm the inconsiderate one whose up all night watching films and listening to music.

Nobody has ever complained though so I'm guessing no problem.

As for your problem, just beat them up, they are only Korean men so probably barely 5 ft tall. Just smash their bicycles and break their cameras, they'll quieten down.
In the home im much the same as you. Im always listening to music and have films on at a volume suitable to enjoy. This is in the home and I doubt very much that the neighbors can hear at all though.

To be honest I felt like punching the guy last night. I mean, there he was hauling stuff noisily outside my bedroom in the early hours of morning and speaking loudly. And then when I got irate and simply shouted to shut it up and with him responding in plain english "F*** you!"....well, that pissed me off. There is a time and a place.

He was being the inconsiderate moron and then me being abused with the "F*** you!!". Unbelievable.

Tonight after work I will again knock on their door. I will try to be polite and explain that their actions are inconsiderate and for them to actually think about what they are doing. Also I will ask them not to tell me to go and F*** myself in future. No need for that. If they fail to respond as I think they should then maybe I will need to be more forceful.

I have a truce with my neighbor now. He has promised to try and be more considerate to my sleeping habits and I have in turn agreed to not yell at the first sign of noise.

In fact we both found a common gripe in the hot water being off for over a week in the middle of a scorching summer. He has lived in many apartments in Korea and has never been subjected to such a silly yearly policy either.

My big gripe with these apartments is that the communal thing is taken too far. As an example, in the winter we all pay the same heating bills. Because of this the heating is on at set times each day and so even in the middle of the freezing Korean winter I sit around in shorts and t shirts with my balcony windows wide open and with snow blowing left right and centre. Very wasteful and downright annoying. I really resent not having these basic choices such as when and when not to heat my home or use hot water for a week in July. Right, Im through with my venting now!!
