the parries are gay and killed the game

ALL YOU HAVVE TO DO IS THIS

if you leave the parried then the side they arent parrying should be left open, so if they parry up left and ypou throw up right they get hit, problem solved

Parrying shouldn't stop you from MOVING...yeah if you get your punch slapped away it'll leave your hands in a bad place but most people can move their upper body or legs they don't just sit there and wait to get nailed.

Here are some of my thoughts on any new boxing games

    1. Create your own style
a: It would be like creating a swing in Tiger Woods Golf, adjust how you stand, how you carry your arms, and how you throw your punches. It would be a bit intensive but the purists would love it. Adjusting the base would be as it is right now just pick a style power, ellusive, technical, etc.

b: it would allow for MORE styles and more DIFFERENT styles. Imagine being able to create the strengths and weaknesses of individual boxers.

    2. Fix the KO's!
a: Not every fight is going to end in a KO infact most aren't

b: stoppages occur more than pure KO's so more cuts and fights where the corner throws in the towel....even YOUR corner when you're getting hammered!

c: A hard earned decision is something to be proud of and respected

d: more one punch KO's or KO's where you land numerous unblocked shots in succession

    3. Career mode
a: The idea of a rivalry mode is GREAT, now build upon it....don't tell me who my rival is, let it build naturally and with press confrences and in fight fouls it should be easy to do.

b: heavyweights shouldn't move down in weight! That's an idiotic idea and should never have been done because the fights got easier as the game progressed and not harder.

c: NEW YOUNG TALENT make some title challenges harder than others. Have styles that are difficult to beat and fighters who catch you on an off night and you have to fight your ass off to beat them.

d: The lower weight classes should be able to jump up or down weight classes and fight big time money fights. BUT the gain or drain should affect your ability and therefore affect your strategy in the fight.

    4. Create your own trainer/have real trainers in the game
a: This would go hand in hand with the create your own style part of my ideas. Trainers train styles and therefore would give certain strengths and weaknesses to fighters....ie Buddy McGirt would teach you to box and defend BUT in the big fight he's going to keep telling you he's going to stop the fight and be a real downer....or Teddy Atlas is going to yell at you and get you amped up.

b: If REAL trainers were involved in the game maybe they could give you REAL advice, as in if someone is dropping their jab they would say "He's dropping his guard, I need you to throw the right cross right over it!"

And that is all I got for now, please tell me what you think

    ....I thought of some more

    5. Styles make fights
a: Pick a style: pressure, brawler, boxer/puncher, slick, counter puncher, pure boxer, defensive, etc etc etc.

b: have the styles MEAN MORE for example be more effective and do more damage as a counter puncher when you actually COUNTER PUNCH.

c: This would also make certain fighters have more trouble with other fighters.

    6. Referees
a: They don't have to be in the game or be visible or anything, that would be cool but just have them call fights differently.

b: this would also give certain fighters difficulty clinching, illegal blows, HOME COOKING (ie the Robin Reid-Svenn Ottke ref)

    7. Punching: attributes, combinations, and haymakers
a: With FNR3 you have a select few attributes and all that affect punching is speed, power, and stamina. Well we need to have individual punches to have the attributes of speed and power and maybe damage inflicted therefore you can HAVE to avoid Earnie Shavers' right cross or David Tua's left hook, or Razor Rudduck's special uppercut

b: Right now you basically make your own combinations but they aren't effective, perhaps something needs to be done to where you create your own combinations and they are more effective....the 1-2 is absolutely worthless in FNR3

c: the haymakers in FNR3 are just horrible. You should be able to have a haymaker button like holding down R1 and then throw a hook or cross or uppercut and make it a haymaker. And landing the haymaker should either result in a knockdown (either flash or real) or a fighter getting stunned

    8. Clinching and pushing off
a: these happen in real boxing and yet they get penalized or are hard to do in FNR3. How can you make a legitimate version of John Ruiz without having him clinch all the time or even a Lennox Lewis or Ali or Wladimir or whoever.

    The parrying sucks
    create a style sounds good
they need 1 punch koes and it needs to be harder to knock some people out than others, a chin rating perhaps?

Well I think if you get hit flush then you need to pay for it...it needs to be more friendly to the defensive minded fighter and therefore it will drop the punch output and make the game more realistic.

I would also like ot see physical size be more important to style and strategy. I mean I can make a Lennox Lewis or Wladimir Klitschko but they have no reach advantage or anything even if I fought them against Manny Pacquiao and that is just ridiculous!

I think the parry system works fine but once you get use to the controls it's to simple. Rather than having 4 quadrants to block L.head R.head L.body R.body they should have body L+R Chest l+r and head l+r gives you two more attacking options and therefore rather than 1 out of 4 for the parry it's 1 out of 6..not easy to do.I think that would sort the problem and still have an effective way of blocking.
