I doubt it he would have beaten any of them, certainly not the 1st three. How good is he ? I still don't think he's that great, good, but not great. He beat Kessler (over rated) Lacy (over rated). For me he needs to beat one of Pavlik, Taylor, Hopkins or Winky Wright
He never really beaten a really BADDDDD fighter IMO. A real marquee fighter.
I see your point but McClellan never won a fight at SuperMiddle. Not properly anyway. In fact, as big a puncher as G-Man was he only beat Jackson (big punch shaky chin) and a spent Mugabi.
As for the others....
Jones. Probably not, but I doubt that any other SM could have. No shame in that.
Toney? Yes!!! His only win at SM was against Barkley who was KO'd in ONE by Benn.

idn't Collins relinquish his title rather than face Calzahge?
Benn was/is one of my all time favourites. I watched so many of his fights live and so many on TV. I really think that a prime Joe C would dismantle a prime Benn. It's close but we'll never know.
I know that you think people are all overhyped over Calzaghes' win tonight but thats the nature of people. let it go.
Collins was sparked out unconscious when sparring for his fight v Calzaghe (Howard Eastman?) and realised that he was past it.
Why didn't you

Why do people rate Collins so highly? He was a limited fighter who beat a shot Benn. Jones, Calzaghe, Toney, McClellan, Kessler all destroy him. I wouldn't be surprise if Manfredo gave him a run for his money. Collins was a mediocre fighter. Nothing more
I followed Collins throughout his career. It was strange. In Boston he was a cutie, then he lost to the Body Snatcher in a respectable bout, returned to the British Isles. It wasn't until the Chris Pyatt fight that he turned into a brawler.
I agree with you that He beat a shot Benn, but he did beat a decent Eubank - although Eubank was struggling a little at 168 by then.
I do think he's better than mediocre but I'm not as harsh as you are. However, he wasn't that good.
I'm never drinking again (I am a liar)
