When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

This may have been discussed already, but did anyone else think that McCallum looked very unconditioned in that fight, as if he was resigned to defeat so he didn't train his hardest?

Jones said after "why take a crazy chance with someone I can outspeed and outbox"....Cant argue that. The boo's did not seem to bother him and once he dropped McCallum at end of round 10 he seemed to try for a KO In the last two rounds. The judging was crazy, they had 6 total Lol,3 from WBC & 3 from Flordia commission.
Mike McCallum best days were behind him, he retired after the next fight against Toney. He put on one last brilliant performance in beating Harding at light heavy, but that was not his best weight but he still performed outstandingly well.
I think he was going to get a shot at the top guys but he lost to Sumbu Kalambay that is what killed him was that lose and his big fights. Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran and Marvin Hagler would of been great fights for Mike McCallum i agree with Ice i think he losses to Leonard and Hagler but the others are a toss up.

You are wrong again (like with Lewis beating Tyson). Hagler was retired by the time he lost to Kalambay, SRL was manufacturing big fights, Duran would not have come near him at Middleweight and Hearns was only interested in revenge against SRL. McCallum would have beaten them at that stage as they were passed their peak, only Hearns could have mounted a real challenge.
The Body Snatcher is part of my top 5
An excellent technican, solid puncher and very underrated
