In my experience as a teacher, most people have suffered some form of bullying in their lives. I won't rattle on. From BBN:

"All of us who know boxing are already well aware of this - the sport has a huge amount of potential to be a force for social good.

The latest indicator that the general public are beginning to see the light is the launch of a campaign today by the Sheffield Star newspaper called 'Boxing against Bullying'.

The initiative - which will see boxers and trainers not just offering to teach troubled youngsters the sport but also acting as 'mentors' - is backed by the NSPCC, former Sports Minister and president of the ABA Richard Caborn and popular Sheffield trainer Glyn Rhodes. It goes without saying that Britishboxing.net lends our full support.

For more details and to show support, take a minute to visit the campaign by clicking the link below:

    Consider it done, Scrap.

Really good stuff Scrap there is too much bullying in todays day and age, the only time i ever got bullied was when i was in the junior school, then my grandad and uncle who were both good amateur boxers taught me some of the basics hitting the bag, pads, training etc. Then one day i stood up to the bully and gave him a pasting that he never forgot and he never picked on me again. Boxing is great not only does it learn you to protect yourself but it also gives you that much needed confidence boost, but its not always helpful in some cases, i remember once when i see this mugger who was about 18 smack some old lady and mug her, i run after him and caught up to him, and he pulled out a knife luckily for me as he went to stab me i caught his arm but in the process i got a slight wound on my hand, i managed to luckily get the better of him in the struggle, the moral of the story is that yes it is good to learn some form of fighting to learn to protect yourself, but be very careful on the streets because most of the scum on the streets today carry weapon's and they don't believe in a fair 1 on 1 no weapon fight they will just kill you with a knife or gun and won't think anything of it.

    Wasn't suggesting he didn't.
Once I had to apologise for breaking the gym mop, he asked how it happened, 'because #### was being lippy so I hit him with it and it broke'
    slight pause....'fair enough'

I used to train there. Atmosphere was great, bit like saddos, work hard, take the piss, but people were very supportive of each other.
