no pouched eggs are the best thing you could put in a boxers diet , its my job i didnt go to uni for no reason lol and u should not eat starcy carbs because 5 pm to 6 pm because your body takes 4 hours to start using carbs so this is a time asuming you go to bed around 10 pm , sweet potatoe is very good for you and high in fibre
Can i ask, if your body takes 4 hours to use carbs, why do most bodybuilding magazines suggest a Protein Shake and Complex carbs either 2 hours before training or in some cases, immediately before training?
I'm not being a smart arse by the way....i genuinely would like to know. Ta
Actually while I got ye both here....
Could you guys list some high protein foods (other than meats) I could use during my average training day.

Protein' regardless of the types of foods high in protein it comes from, contains 4 calories per gram so much difference in what protein you eat Protein is the main building block of your body. It's essential that your entire body receives enough protein from food to ensure proper growth and maintenance. Protein foods also provide you with essential amino acids that your body cannot manufacture itself! which is sooooo important in training !!! these are the best in high protein which i think contain all the needs your body needs
whey (supplement found in health food stores)
chicken breast
turkey breast
salmon
tuna
cottage cheese
swordfish
haddock
lean ground turkey
round steak
sirloin steak
lean ground beef
orange roughy
eggs
pork
crab
lobster
shrimp
Thank you for that, I need to boost my Protein intake (although I'm beginning to take shakes.) However my primary difficulty is that I do everything on the go....Often I eat while I walk!!!!
So I need to get good foods that are easily located and get the job done!!!
If I were to put my name by one food for a boxer it would probably be oats!

Baked beans, kill me. I think it's a childhood memory that put me off them, but I honestly suffer when I try to eat them.

Even when cutting or trying to make weight, eating eggs for breakfast is a great way of keeping your test levels high....which is important for maintaining/building muscle as wel as overall body composition.
Sweet Potatoes are starchy but i don't see the problem with eating them after 4pm. I'm talking from a bodubuilding point of view with this one. Donny, you obviously know a lot more about making weight than me![]()
Made Weight well last week. Was going for 71, came in at 70.6
I actually ate a feed of Eggs on the morning of the fight and it did the trick.
I can see the benefits of poached eggs alright.
As for sweet potato, for whatever reason my body has problems with digesting starch and it makes me feel sleepy and slow.
I'll keep you'r advice on eggs in mind guys. I'm gonna bulk a little more in my shoulders and arms over then next month I think.
