I think its between Hearns and McCallum. I guess I'll go with Hearns, he was at his best there and wins over Benitez and Duran (especially the way he did it) are enough for me even though he didn't stay there that long.

Norris is one of my all time favorites but its just how you look at it, if you're looking for longevity than maybe him or Wink but Norris didn't have the same caliber of wins as Hearns.

Sort of off topic but how do these fighters match up? I think Hearns and McCallum both beat Norris. McCallum beats Winky, not even sure how Hearns-Winky would go, would probably favor Hearns. Some interesting matchups.

Norris beat some very good fighters at 154.

    Meldrick Taylor
    John Mugabi
    Donald Curry
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Buster Drayton
    Maurice Blocker
    Simon Brown

It depends on the way you see it, Hearns did have the better wins against Benitez, Duran, better than any wins Norris had. But Hearns wasn't at Jr Middleweight long and Norris overall beat a lot of solid opposition and longevity wise its no contest, but like i said it depends on how you look at it.

    I agree with Ice.

I think that Hearns and maybe Benitez are above Terry i mean his best win at the weight was shot SRl who was 35 and cutting weight to make 154 but who knows LM like CW just a stepping stone to better divisions. Not to many stay so it is very hard to even pick one.

I guess you can say Wright but I think Hearns and Benitez had better wins.

Like i said both Hearns and Benitez both had short success at Light Middleweight, and yes they both did have the single best wins aka Roberto Duran, but overall Norris did have better resume at Light Middleweight and beat a lot of good fighters, plus he also has longevity on his side as well.

McCallum's record is better than Norris.

Hearns - McCallum - Julian Jackson - all ice Norris inside 4 rounds , so to answer your question NO NORRIS WASNT THE BEST 154 LB fighter , but he was exciting ,

Why do you say that ?? McCallums best wins at Jr Middleweight were Julian Jackson, Miltron McCrory, Donald Curry, his wins against Watson, Collins, Graham, etc. Were all above Jr Middleweight.

Yes i agree but resume wise i would say Norris is the best and that is what i thought this discussion was about, but if we are on about 1 on 1 match ups with the best Jr Middleweights of all time then no Norris isn't the best.

Yea Ice i agree , but also saying Hearn - Jackson etc had success at middle is a fair point , but also its fair to say Norris had the better resume but he was exclusive to LM.
All in all he was a top fighter , but i would define best LM of all time ,as a guy who could beat any other champ present or past , and im afraid Terry Norris couldnt have done that in my opinion.

I wonder how good Tito would've been if he had stayed there.

If he had stayed it is very likely we would've seen Tito - Mosley and Tito DLH 2. At 154 I think Tito wins both of those.

McCallum's best was at light middle, he beat Jackson who KO Norris, and a fresher Curry than Norris.

McCallum did loose to Kalambay and Toney so it was not his best weight.

I didn't say it wasn't his best weight, but IMO he wasn't at that weight long enough to be considered better than Norris record wise.
