TBH i think this is a lose lose for Joe. If he beats Hopkins people will say so what hes 42 and Jermain Taylor did it when Hopkins was middleweight king at the top of his game. I think he deserves credit for the win as Hopkins is still a wiley old fox but i doubt he will get it.

The main perceptoin of this fight is that Calzaghe should easily out work Hopkins to a UD but what alot of people are forgetting it Hopkins is an exceptional counter puncher and if you give him a sniff of an opening you in big trouble. Joe Calzaghe for all his assets does tend to mock his opponants and leave his chin out from time to time and if he does it in this fight he will be punished also Calzaghe doesnt like a rough ugly fight as i remember Bika giving him a bit of trouble

I feel for Calzaghe to cerment his legacy hes gotta beat Kelly Pavlik who at the moment is the main threat to him and would probibly be the biggest name on his resume in terms of a world class fighter at his peak.

I thnk JC will win the fight, I would much rather have seen it 5 years ago though He should beat B-Hop, beat Pavlick and then retire imo

Itotally agree and thats really my point , Hopkins really has nothing to loose , Calzaghe really as you say is on a loser , wotever happens.
i mean great fighters like Marvin Hagler were retired at 34 , Hopkins is 42-43 , i just dont see Calzaghe in the long term getting much credit.
Also i really give Hopkins a good chance of victory if Calzaghe plows forward.
