i think all cardio is boring esp when you sit for an hour riding a bike or running...what is your goal? and what exactly is wrong with the knee? i just started to come back from dislocating mine at work, and it is almost 3 months and i can do a lot except walking on a down slope or going down stairs is painful. keep doing the pt excercises they will get you the strenght you need, then try doing sprints on a bike or an eliptical trainer, to reduce pounding and reduce boredom by shortening the time..if you are training for boxin, anerobic fitness is what you need if you want to loose fat, you can stick with reg cardio, but also wdd weightsas muscle burns more calories than fat.

My goal... well I have no illusions of competing any more. I'm looking at coaching and I just want to be able to get back in the ring and be able to move around. Fat is not an issue I'm only about 3-4 pounds over what I used to be when I was fighting.

I have part of the cartlidge floating in my knee which is causing it to lock. Depending on the MRI results they will either shave or remove the cartlidge.

Swimming by yourself is boring. Swimming in a club is great. You get technique tips, people to race, you get pushed and learn to push more than you can alone.

Otherwise as someone said rowing is a good one, cycling isn't too bad, maybe rock climbing?

I've had a knee injury and I know how much it sucks. For me the answer was swimming but if that's not your thing I hope you find something else that suits. Good luck

You kinda hit the nail on the head I get bored doing stuff on my own. Four of us used to do road work together and we used to make it into a competiton as well as having a laugh. Thanks for the good wishes

My pup weighs more than me so I guess she'd be taking me for a walk lol.

I had the same thing .when I was young I fell out of a tree and hit my knee on a brick. seemed ok after the initail shock and got better. about 10 years later i was off down the street and my knee locked up totally.
turned out i had shattered my knee cap internally and a lump 3/4 inch x 3/4 inch had grown seperatley for years under the cap linked by a stem which snapped and the block caught and seized my knee.
That was the old days when they had to go in with shovel .Once you have a weakness you have to look after it every way you can, mentally too and with feelings too.

Our bodies follow our minds, our minds follow our deepest feelings so there are major links all the way through each way.

If our bodies arent following our driven messages to it, it follows our deepest feeelings, fears or likes through the sub consiouss.

Knees represent a link mentally into stubborn pride and ego.
    inflexabilty to not giving in.
The mental thought that you need to write down and say aloud to your self so that your subconsiuss gets the new message is:

    "Forgivness,Understanding.Compassion.
I bend and flow with ease and all is well." write it down read it out "aloud" to yourself everyday, alot, and see what your body does with your new directions you have given it.

Your mind runs the show either by you consiously,or if your not taking control it will do it any way in secret sub consiously through your deepest feelings, change movie reels and the body has to follow, thats its job.

Left side of body is 'feeling orientated' from the right side of your brain. often by female or ying disruption.

right side of body is often male analytical driven feelings that have effects from the left hemishphere, or the male yang side of us.

    Being a male and in your position;
educated guess ; is its your left knee and your inflexable towards a female and moving along in life regards to both your deeper feelings, right or wrong.

Cool ,some people actually hate you when you show them the deeper way to getting better.

Sometimes you get them physically better in a matter of miniutes but its like shining a light on why and they hate you for it. Like kicking their life crutch out from under them.
