I was too enthralled to bothering scoring the fight, BUT, I feel that Vasquez and his ability to waver the storms won him the fight.
Sure, Marquez had his share of "back from the brink of destruction" moments and BOTH fighters had to hold back panic attacks when they thought they were about to KO the opposition, but Vasquez has the edge on power and I think will win it for him every time.
In the first fight he had already knocked Marquez down before he quit and there is a great chance he could have won that fight the same way he won either one after it. That being said I think a fourth fight is uncalled for.
Still, after the first fight I said there was no need for a rematch becasue Vasquez quit. I was wrong.
I am 2/3 on my predictions though. Picking Marquez in the second fight was my one failure.
An amazing fight. FOTY and one of the greatest trilogies ever. I don't mind who won, both were winners in my eyes. I didn't bother keeping score(first time I've not done that,I was enjoying the fight waaaay too much to write things down!)
If I ad to choose,I thought Marquez JUST pulled it out but it was close eiter way and neither can really argue that much. That 12th showed how much of a fricking warrior Isreal. Winky Wright and a WHOLE HOST of other guys need to watch Vazquez and see how someone who wants a round so bad can win it as opposed to running/playing it safe.
And who was saying Marquez was chinny? Anyone other fighter 126 and down would have been stopped in that 12th. Rafa was amazing. I can't describe how amazing I thought that fight was.
What is amazing about all the punches exchanged, is that these guys aren't feather fisted fellas. these are real punchers who took alot of real licks.

Man I don't think so. I called home to remind everyone and they asked me who would win, (evidently I am quite the authority) and i said I really don't know. But I do know it will end in Tko/ko or cuts.

rd.10 9-9 even(low blow takes pt. away from Marquez who was winning the round)
rd.11 10-9 vasquez
rd.12 10-8 Vasquez
TOTAL:113-113 DRAW
I haven't seen every fight ever made, but I can say, for ME, that was the greates fight I ever watched!!
Anyone who wants to aspire to being a fighter should be made to watch that and realize what the words rugged, heart, and desire really mean.
A shame it wasn't a draw. Lesser men would have been out of there by the 5th round; how they survived through that is beyond me. And the 12 th round was almost frightening
I want to see a 4th fight, but I wonder how another fight between these 2 guys will affect them in later life![]()
