I see him MAYBE fighting Holyfield...I don't think he would fight Morrison although there is a chance that COULD happen. Other than those two I don't see him fighting much less beating any top competition....I think Holyfield and Morrison could still beat him.

Well on Friday Night Fights Mesi called out: Wladimir Klitschko, Hasim Rahman, and Lamon Brewster.....how do you see those fights

Even the people that think Wladimir is boring would enjoy seeing him pummel Joe Mesi!
Wlad is just out of the question at this point or any other IMO...Rahman would be a good fight that I give a 50/50 to....Brewster is another I am not too sure about...Have not seen Lamon as of late...IMO Mesi beats Morrison but the card would have to be billed

Battle of the Unsanctionables...Because neither really needs to be in the ring for their own sake

Well he has gotten considerably better then when we first saw him back. Do I think he'll be a top 10 again? No. He's gonna get himself hurt. His style is one that it's just not a good idea to keep fighting. He gets hit to much. Do I think He could beat Brewster or Rahman... Sure, it's a posibility if he trains hard...

Do I see him even laying a hard hand on Wlad... No... I thought that was rediculous. I bet when Wlad heard that he laughed out loud.

I'm a Mesi fan... His style is not one that makes for a long career anyway... He'd be a great comentator... He is very elequint!

People need to stop saying that he is going to get hurt. He is at no greater risk than any other fighter. Look at the interview I did with him last year, I did the research and found all of the doctors who agree. In fact there is NOT ONE doctor who says he should not be fighting.

I also don't get it why no one had a problem with Barrerra fighting and his injury was far worse. He had to have a metal late placed in his head.

I am under no assumption that Mesi is the greatest out there right now. I know that there are a lot of fighters who would beat him. However his level of competition was (before the injury) far better than a lot of up and coming heavyweights. I have seen Arrrelo fight live on numerous occasions and his opponents are more hand picked than a bin of strawberrys. And Valuev fought NO ONE until Ruiz.

He had 2 years off. Who do you expect him to fight? He was legally not allowed to even work out during that time.

If he scores an impressive win on April 4 on ESPN he will be ranked in the top 10 of the WBC. He is now #15.

I just feel that he is a nice humble guy and he has a dream. Everyone knows the risk when they step into the ring. His fights are exciting and when we see fights like Wlad gave us a few weeks ago we need some excitment. Just because you get knocked down does not mean you are not a good fighter. Wlad was down 3 times against Peter. If anyone has no chin it is him.

Hey Mike, I hope you're right... I would love to see that but I don't think title hopes are possible. I think against a fighter like Maskaev... But Peter will take that option away

Mesi's time on FNF was actually pretty entertaining. He better hope his fists are still as strong as his mouth is. With his injury whether he think he's healed or not this sport is just too too rough, he should find something else to do. I like the guy, but i don't see it as worth the risk.

I agree with that, I like Joe he adds some depth to the division and yeah he has never been beaten, though he's been very close.

I just think Joe Mesi has a choice to make about his career (with sanctioning body approval of course), he either goes all out and tries to get the belts or he should hang them up.

Joe Mesi is a good fighter, he has power and skill in some areas, however I highly doubt he would be anything more than a journeyman or a gateway to the contenders. I think Wladimir would absolutely crush him....Joe Mesi, the guy who got hurt by a Monte Barrett right cross! The guy who has yet to fight a title holder either past or present!

I think Joe Mesi should aim for a shot at Evander Holyfield that would be the best he could beat at this time...I think John Ruiz would be too much for him! I think Chris Byrd would beat him up pretty good!

The only shot he would have at Golota is to jump on him early which is what Joe does....but if he tried that vs Wlad he'd be sent off to sleepytown via the right cross expressway

I think Joe should fight just because he wants to fight; and he should fight decent opposition but forget about unifying the division or anything like it. And do not enter a ring with the likes of Klitchko.

Fight Holyfield, Rahman maybe, how about Tua? Fight to enjoy and entertain and do it for charity and to lay groundwork for other life goals. Mesi has a lot going on besides boxing, but it was boxing that put him out there.

From what I've read his brain injury after Jirov is no more likely a second time than it was the first, so his risk isn't any greater than any fighter that enters the ring. If so, then fight on - but time to step it up and get three-four decent fights and then quit. So no more county fairs ...

....and Mesi can get floored by Monte Barret...I see Mesi winning NOTHING vs the current crop of title holders.

I think Mesi could beat Valuev but that's about it
