THere is a difference between diehard, and brain dead... die hard fans though Dela Hoya made a good showing of himself, brain dead fans thought Dela Hoya won... Half the people in the crowd didn't even realize they were fighting for Oscar's 154 pound belt which goes to show the overall knowledge of the people at the fihgt... As for the truth of it, at most he won half as many rounds as Mayweather.

I like both Brawls and technical boxing matches.

Thing was in this fight.. what was there for even a technical fan to appreciate ?

Floyds amazing defence ? -he was so far away from all the punches most the time that it wasn't fun to watch at all. It wasn't like in e.g. the nDou or Corley fights where he has that amazing crab defence type thing, ducking and blocking everything. Or even in the Baldomir fight where the slipping etc was just so fast it was amazing , the way he used the elbows etc, I love to watch that,

De la Hoyas attacks ? - Yea , great to watch the 8 or so times this happened, I was very excited when he was throwing those flurrys at Floyd on the ropes, but it happened not frequently enough to make a good viewing
    Thats cricket

Bit harsh don't ya think.Anyway the 50 or so people I've seen it with at the bar in Philly. All thought Oscar won.So I guess all of us were brain dead. Most people I talked to said the same thing."When you have to fight the champion you go and get the belt not pot shot him and run away".Are point's were very similiar but everyone in the boards here and around all thought it was a landslide for Mayweather something I just couldn't grasp.

Belts don't mean champion in my book... IMO and in most people's opinions Oscar was fighting Mayweather for his supremacy over the sport, not some meaningless bauble. As for Mayweather winning in a landslide, how does hitting your opponent when you want, and not getting hit in return not result in a landslide? Dela Hoya wasn't to able to do anything effectively, when he started using his jab, Floyd started countering him with the right hand until Oscar stopped trying to come after the jab, and the almost the whole end of the fight Mayweather controlled... I am not saying Oscar didn't come close in a few rounds, but most of them he was outboxed, outlanded, and outsped.

How can people say that Oscar doesn't have the balls to fight Cotto... thats retarded... Besides Ali nobody has faced better competition in their career than Oscar... he risked open humiliation against perhaps the two best defensive fighters ever in Mayweather and Whitaker. He risked his undefeated record against a prime MOsley who at the time seemed invincible. Ditto with Trinidad who hits harder than Cotto. He wnet up to middleweight to fight one of the best middleweights ever(top 5 in my books with Greb,Robinson,Hagler, and Monzon). Nothing in Oscar's career would provide any evidence of him being scared of anybody in the sport.

Hi Taeth, be cool friend , i think that nobody in this Topic said that ODLH doesnt have the balls to fight Cotto , everybody just saying some point of view and analitycal situation that how Oscar will fight Cotto by his Prime before vs now , we know that he risked his undefeated record , but adding about Tito we have to be realist he didnt won that fight and comparing with Cotto ; Cotto have more boxing , strategie and comes everytimes with differents skills that nobody can read it at the time of the fight and have a devastaring punch too , so if we comparing i think Cotto have more probability to win ODLH in that WW Division vs when fought to Oscar......that is the analisys that we tried to share with all of you my friend.......lets put some more interesting point of view that we will share.........
