Well you just wait for someone to come beat Wladimir....and I'll enjoy my fighter's time at the top of the division.
He fights to his strength...everyone knows his weaknesses and yet not a lot of people can beat him

....So his last fight wasn't fun to watch....it's not 100% Wlad's fault....50%-75% I agree but the guy won in the way the other fighter gave him the opportunity to win.
If taking wild risks always won people fights then Oliver McCall on a crack binge would be the heavyweight champ!
Since this post is not supposed to be about Wlad I'll just make one comment on him...Nobody likes to watch a champion fight scared and after a few more stinkers like his last fight Wlad will be thought of as the best of a terrible divison, nothing more...
In the case of Peter , yes he is overrated and gives hope to Ruiz, Tua (wherever he is), Holyfield and any other fighter currently in mothballs...The division is in a horrible state...
you don't get it man, wlady had one bad showing due to a southpaw infront of him and as smart as wlady is all he had to do was do what he did that night to easily win a u.d. fighters like rafa and isreal had to complicate the way they win because their machoness get in the way. Im not complaining though, i love isrea and rafa im just saying wlady is a different fighter. he doesn't let his pride make an easy fight to a difficult one.
You have to acknowledge that he knocked Klitschko down 3 times. So obviously Klitschko isn't untouchable. I don't think Peter wins a rematch but you're off if you think that Peter has no shot. He knocked him down 3 times.
Sam's a poor technical boxer, very poor in fact. He is physically very strong and has decent power, but it would be an inclination of how low the division has actually got if he were to become the undisputed champ, as opposed to an inclination of how good he is.
Sam Peter is arguably the 2nd best active heavyweight in the division. Say what you want, he just knocked out a title holder, though. He would be overrated if the weight class were chock-full of elite talent, which it is not right not and even then perhaps. We don't know whether or not Peter would have risen to the occasion and improved greatly. He certainly improved against Toney, he very well could have if there were 5 or more elite-level heavies jockeying for a belt. To say that Peter is overrated is to say there's a line of people behind him who should be in front of him. Which of these alleged people have beaten him or carved out a better resume? Vitali Klitschko is broken down and trying to rebuild himself for a title bout after several years in retirement. Nikolai Valuev lost after taking the path of least resistance to a title and then getting outpointed by Chagaev. Chagaev himself is still unproven and so far as any of us can tell, ran away from a bout with Sultan Ibragimov. Ibragimov just lost his belt. You're on crack if you think Alexander Povetkin stands a chance. That guy was on steam midway through his fight with pillow-fisted Eddie Chambers. Tony Thompson- another guy who's in the middle of nowhere and 35 years old, no less and if you expect us to take you seriously then you'd better tell us you're kidding about John "David-Tua-lopped-my-head-off-and-James-Toney-made-me-his-bitch" Ruiz. You try to bear hug a bear you'll get raped and eaten by said bear.
Sam Peter may be over rated, but he's still the heavyweight fighter most deserving at a shot at the recognised unified champ.
Additionally, he's got a strap, so I'd be more than willing to sit through twelve rounds of these two going at it to be rewarded withan Undisputed world champion.

I agree with you guys, he's earned his shot at Wlad, and he isn't to blame for the lack of talent in the division at the moment, he also seems to be willing to actually fight quite frequently which is also a reason to like him. Still, I just don't like him.
