I've decided to keep my mouth shut for now. But why?? I've noted that thereare some not so nice 'coincidence' in this fight, and being somewhat superstitious, I'm somewhat disturbed by them (actually, I have some good theories on superstition, or more precisely, coincidence). The biggest ones are these:
1. Their first fight was sunday before the election (monday), and as unsettled the result of that election was, so were the result of that fight.
2. After the loss to Erik in the first fight, the first most controversial issue, the Hello Garci case, almost toppled Ate Glo from her seat of power. That fight was Palm Sunday 2005, a Catholic holiday.
Now this is the scary part. Again, Ate Glo is in her most delicate stage of her presidency with the GTE issue continuing to hound her wobbly administration.
Now, this fight is again on Palm Sunday!!!

(For the non-pinoys, if you're curious, ask other pinoys for the details of these events, as I'm not in mood of explaining them.)
Will Manny survive this one?! I'm not so sure. As good as I may be analyzing boxing, I'm not so sure what affect those coincidences will have on similar future events - sometimes they follow the same pattern, but sometimes not - so I can't say for sure. As a boxing analyst, I'm still sticking with the analysis I made on this fight, but the big problem is, when something happens, it just happens and the heck with the odds, the analyses and what not.
So fellow pac-fans, Bruce, Julius, Pacstraight and all, keep your fingers crossed and don't believe in any stupid superstition
, but at the same time don't be overconfident and too brash... In the meantime, pacfan will be in semi-hibernation in his lair. I've invited Violent D. to spent several nights with me there, but I'm still waiting for his reply
.
