Cotto is one of those rare fighters whose profile is rising based on what his former opponents are doing. How impressive are those wins against Mallignagi, Quintana and Torres now?? Couple that with wins over Judah and Mosely and you can see that Cotto is the real deal..has been for a while.
As far as who can beat him, I still believe Floyd can but he needs to take the fight as soon as possible otherwise Cotto's chances will increase. We've all seen what Cotto can do to boxers that have been described as more skilled than he is.
I also think that De la Hoya might be a hard fight for him. I think De La Hoya would try to box the way he did in the Trinidad fight. He will try and keep him at arms length. Cotto in my eyes is better than Trinidad though, far more skilled and can adapt so it would be interesting to see how he would react to that gameplan.

Good point of view Althugz , if that fight comes i dont think that ODLH can fight to Cotto as the same way that he fought with Trinidad , thats why he changed his style , he will get tire more fast now , the good thing that Cotto has is he cut the ring to anybody look with Malignaggy , Quintana and Judah , they are a faster boxers and he stoped them , so the style that ODLH have now ;for me is more Risky for him, his style is similar of Cotto style STRAIGHT-FORWARD , maybe he will change the style but the question is How long he will keep to Cotto in a Distance with his arms length ? ........

In boxing anyone can beat anyone. But if you look at Cotto you might say he is very winnable. But the real issue here is not his strength, Boxing ability etc, is his ring smarts that it has been the reason he has been wining his fights. If you look at it the only fights that Cotto did not fight smart was with Corley and Torres. With Corley he tough he was to strong and with Torres he tough he was a nobody but after getting caught with both what Cotto did? HE box them mad and wining the last rounds of those fights very easy (shame on Coelry fight Referee). Because of those fights he did learn his lesson and stop taking his opponent lightly what happened next? Malignaggi, Quintana, Judah and Mosley. With Urkal fight he was very frustrated because of all the head butts( LOL how ever you say that word in english).

That is why I want to see him with Mayweather. Two smart guys one of them who likes to beat his opponents by making them bleed. Cotto that is.

I really can't say who will win this fight but between all of those fighters Cotto is the only one I gave a chance of doing it. I have been saying that for about 3 years already. No P.Williams (I did never caught up with his hype like some did) , not Judah, No Baldo and NO HAtton and never no Oscar but he did surprise me with that SD.

Mayweather will beat him for sure. The style matchup is wrong for cotto, and Mayweather is just too good in the first place.
