The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
De Leon has only been out-boxed once. That was against Celestino Caballero. Lopez can't box as good as Caballero. He has more power, yes. But that's going to work against him. Lopez is going to go in there thinking he can hurt and stop De Leon. And before he knows it, he's going to get cracked and floored. For all of De Leon's faults, a bad chin ain't one of them.
Dianzo is a tough guy, remember he dropped & lost a disputed decision to Ayala a few years back, plus he's only been stopped by a couple of guys, he had fought a lot of top opposition & had a wealth of experience.
The only thing I don't like about this fight is that we don't get to see Caballero/ DeLeon 2 which was also in talks

de Leon is another version of wild swinging Ricardo Mayorga, without the fanfare. And if you have really seen Lopez, and not judged him by the names you have seen on his resume, but actually seen him multiple times, then you will know the kid has boxing skill and knows what he's doing in the ring. He's been put in there with tough Mexicans who are pressure fighters and KO'd them. And though they may not be on the same level as Ponce, they have provided Juanma with experience. Coupled with Juanma's power (19 ko's in 21 fights), this fight is going to be a ko one way or the other.
No longer like Ponce, got excited when I saw him spark out Bautista, but having atched a number of fights, his strength and fitness is overshadowed by the neglect of any technical or stylistic plans
