Yeah they were prostitutes. If you read "Unforgivable Blackness" you'll see that he always traveled with prostitute. But I think the reason the govt was really trying to nail him was that they were white prostitutes.

So is it Ok to have sex with prostitutes so long as you do not take them across the border?![]()
no its not but if you don't take the accross state lines the federal goverment has nothing to do with it...if you transport them accross state lines then its a federal crime, at least that's what I'm guessing.
The Mann Act was also handy for adding to the trouble kidnappers and rapists would be in if they indeed transported their hostage(s) across state lines.
Plenty of people have been tried on the Mann Act, Chuck Berry, Charlie Chaplain, Charles Manson, William I. Thomas, and Rex Ingram.....so it wasn't JUST Jack Johnson but realistically the FBI did use it to try and bust black people
I hope they fucking nail Spitzer with this! You can't make as many enemies as Spitzer did (like a liberal) ON WALL STREET and expect to get away with this...when they announced Spitzer's involvement in this scandal and possible resignation due to it the NYSE stopped and cheered.
I hope they put his ass under the fucking prison! The FBI used this law to nail black people for years and this is one case where I am all in favor of the law actually being fair.
Forget the Mann Act, I just want to know what he got that cost him over 4 grand.
