Witter vs Hatton will probably happen but Ricky has been trying to fry bigger fish. Hatton doesn't owe Witter a big paycheck.

Really can't see why everyone is suddenly a fanboy of Witter.
You say that Rob but who has a better resume at Jr Welterweight than Witter ?? except for Hatton of course.

Are you friggin kidding me? Casamayor got his ass kicked by a pretty fucking average lightweight in his last fight. The man is living off his own hype alone!

You Hatton apologists crack me up... But Mayweather gets raked over the coals and called a ducker but Hatton wont step up and fight Witter and make a huge domestic showdown

VD is right, if Witter is a walk in the park than face him I would give Hatton and his fans the benefit of the doubt with a tune up after a loss, but Fuck that you guys get no mercy from me on this. You chirped and your boy got knocked out and most were not even gracious in defeat and you will Lambaste Mayweather for not fighting Cotto tomorrow then no, Hatton his a ducker plain and simple. He got his big payday with Floyd, now fight your country men and give your fans something they deserve...

    Alright Ice,

I have no problem with Hatton and Witter fighting and I'd enjoy watching. I do believe it will happen (by early 2009 at the latest).

What I do find unfair is people expecting Hatton to jump into another fight with a top fighter straight after a big defeat - surely every fighter is allowed a confidence builder and while Lazcano has been inactive he is not a journeyman.

Secondly while Witter may have the 2nd best resume at Jnr.Welterweight and probably has he hasn't really helped himself by concentrating on Hatton instead of doing major things himself.
Some fans seem to have thrown their lot in with Witter based on his name calling and Hatton having been beaten.(not just here but the majority of Boxing sites).

For the record I am not a huge fan of Hatton or anti Witter, like I say I'd like to see them fight. Just let's not all jump on Hatton's back cos Witter is calling him out.

There's a couple of guys who I totally respected around here and when they come out with stupid commnets about Hatton ducking Witter I lose all respect for them, they know who they are and it's a big shame (No names mentioned).

U miss the point. Witter may not have the greatest resume, but he has the second best one at 140 at the moment.
If Hatton is the king at 140 prove it by beating the second best fighter in the division. Witter said he'd take a small cut of the purse so potentially he wont make a huge sum.
Why should Hatton make huge dollars fighting washed up guys? Thats worse to me.
    Alright Eagle,

I haven't missed the point. The fight will happen it's a matter of timing. HBO are the paymasters and they will get Hatton vs Witter on..If Witter does something to get casual American Boxing fans interested otherwise Malignaggi or maybe Juan Diaz will be the names on the Executives at HBO.

Hatton beats Lazcano and gets some faith restored so its upto Witter to get the otherside done. Thats how boxing works.

Hatton doesn't want to fight Witter cos Witter has been doing nothing for years except struggling against half decent fighters and calling out Hatton.
Hatton has gone and beaten a P4Per in Tszyu then gone to the States to fight and made a name for himself and not been fighting infront of a little crowd of people in the Doncaster Dome.

Why isn't Witter calling out Zab Judah and proving that he was too experienced the 1st time? Haven't heard one poster mention that. Step upto the plate Witter and fight Zab maybe he knows he'd get beaten again.

Maybe Ricky is scared of fighting a decent fighter in their prime. He has only really done that once before and we all know how that ended.......

Are you trying to say that Witter is better than Floyd?

No stupid, im saying he made his name fighting passed it ex champs, and the one time he fought a prime guy he got KTFO. I think he might be happy to just fight passed it guys again. Hence fightin lazcano.

Ricky is not even in HIS prime so I don't blame him. The fight almost happened a few years ago when Hatton would have battered the fool.

Your on about Tszyu........yawn. He fucking destroyed Mitchell for the second time and in a much devastating fashion than his previous fight with him. He was still regarded as the best LW in the world.

Ricky was in the best shape ever (rewatch the weigh in and you wont find him looking better) and had the heart and determination to take all Tszyu had and outworked him at a crazy pace.

I'm tired of people trying to take credit away for that win.

Anyway. He fought the best P4P fighter in the world, at a higher weight class, in Floyds hometown, had a ref totally againsed letting him fight when he looked to be in a position to land.

Why would he ever be scared to fight anyone anywhere? especially at 140

The thing is i dont think Ricky should be scared of Witter. I believe he'd win. I just hate the stupid excuses he makes for avoiding the fight.
I dont mind him fighting Lazcano cos he probably needs a confidence builder.
The danger for Ricky is that with his high paced rugged style he could be shot very quickly. On the other hand Witter's style is probably gonna allow him to have a longer career. Hatton dont want to leave the Witter fight too long and risk losing
