Pacquiao vs. Marquez Weigh-in - ESPN Video
Hurry up Pac! Eat a lot of adobo, bulalo, balut, and tinola.![]()
I bet for a JMM decision, although expecting a very close and exciting fight, I can hardly wait. This time I believe that Pac will not be able to surprise JMM as he did in the first round. It was amazing how after that beat up in the first round JMM could recover as he did and dominated several rounds in a display of his boxing skills.
Puerto Rico, Small Island, Big Champions!!!
If JMM doesn't engage, he might win. I don't think he can survive a man to man non stop slug fest.
Quote:
"I think Marquez will engage Manny in the first few rounds to test if he can take his punches," said Mondejar who flew in from Manila last Thursday night. "Once, Manny starts hurting him, expect Marquez to run like (Marco Antonio) Barrera did. If Marquez stays away, it’ll go 12 rounds with Manny winning the decision. If Marquez stands his ground, Manny will knock him out for sure."
Mondejar was in Pacquiao’s corner in the first meeting against Marquez four years ago.
"Marquez couldn’t walk straight after the fight and couldn’t even move his head because it was so swollen," recalled Mondejar. "He knows what it’s like to get hit by Manny. He’ll keep that in mind in the rematch.

Sheesh, Pacstraighleft! I didn't know that a 'joke vote' would cause such a misunderstanding here. Apparently, most folks here don't read all the posts. Mick was right, it'll come back to my azz! All right folks, read my post on page 6 about the joke vote - that was my b-day gift for my good friend Violent D. I've learned my lesson. I won't pull off that kind of stunt again.
As I've said, my real vote is 'pac T/KO win on the 4th or...' If you want to continue with my assessment of the fight, just read my posts on this thread.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.
'Stronger' Marquez eager to make up for lost time
By Steve D'Amato, Las Vegas Review Journal, Sat, 15 Mar 2008
Four years can be a long time to wait. But Juan Manuel Marquez is a patient man. That's how long it has taken Marquez to get another crack at Manny Pacquiao. Tonight at Mandalay Bay Events Center, the two boxers are expected to pick up where they left off on May 8, 2004, when their first fight ReviewJournal.com - Sports - 'Stronger' Marquez eager to make up for lost time
- $3 million for Pac and $1 million for JMM.
- Arum calling Beristain an idot.
- If Marquez wins, there could be a trilogy on June 28 of this year.
David Diaz is old aswel . Hes 30 something . I wouldnt mind if Pac fought the Diaz that was just beaten by Nate Cambell . That would make for a decent fight . Maybe Guzman cuz he doesnt look on the way down . This fight tonight will put finality on the trilogy of Mexicans . Even if Pac loses he should add other names to his record .
guzman is over thirty as well, plus jmm is still a lot better then he is. This is the correct match for pac. You can't really blame pac cause younger guys don't really want to step up to him. I give credit to solis, a young undefeated guy that actually fought him instead of just talking about it unlike valero. Juan diaz called him out but thats not really saying much cause juan is from the welterweights that went down to lightweight but challenges a featherweight (pacman).
Theres really no young guns to challenges him. Jaun has been expose, valero is still just all hype and....who else is there?

A saw a decent kid come over here and Batter a Brit for the WBO featherweight title . Steven Luevano was his name . He'd make for a good fight with Pac cuz he comes to win . Valero is improving . Arthur may have already peaked but atleast he is in his 20s . If Katsidis does well vs Casa then a match with Pac would be a natural given their styles . . Linares would be another if he wants to move up . There are good fights for Pac out there . Just got to be made .
So nobodys voted for a draw yet...![]()
