True, but If I wear braces whats the liklihood that I get my lips shredde4d when I'm training

Real braces are going to cost you three or four thousand I am afraid. Teeth are def. something you should take care of though, my bottom teeth are fucked up and people don't like that.

I have pretty uneven teeth....but then of course I am English!!

Now im in my late 20's and have a little spending money I wouldnt mind investing somewhat in some porcelain veneers and get all straightened out as it were. I dont think I could be doing with years of braces in the mouth..especially not at my age and having to stand in front of a lot of people every day for a living. Braces are a much less dramatic option.

Why is that?... Is that just a myth?

    "English have bad teeth".
    Hehehe

To be honest, it is a myth more than anything. British teeth are good on the whole.

I just happen to be one of those in the minority that didnt fix slight misalignments when young enough. Mainly because of stubborness really.

I like the idea of that I think it also comes down to the fact that we have or had the crazy idea of if it ain't broke don't fix it. If you're teeth are messed up sure they'd get fixed on the NHS but if it's a slight misalignment and not damaging it's a cosmetic (vanity) issue not dental. And really, I wouldn't want my healthy teeth filed down to pointy pegs to have some fake white ones glued on. The idea goes through me. But the increase of cosmetic dentisty in the UK has gone through the roof.

I was meant to get my wisdom teeth out years ago but they said it would cost $600. I didn't but haven't had any of the hurrendous problems the dentist predicted I would!

True a lot of the doc's advise wisdom teeth to be removed, but in cases that they aren't removed I don't see many problems.

It's a painfull operation too, so it might not be worth it at all.

sharla, my dentist told me to have mine out about 4-5 years ago when i was in high school, and i JUST got them out in january of this year.. I would experience pain every now and again, and some swelling, but i lived with it.. until finally it got SO BAD that it just kept swelling larger and larger, it was actually scary.. I went to the dentist right away and made the appointment the following day to get them out.. It was the EASIEST and most OVERHYPED surgery.. It took him about 3 minutes to pull them out, and then i laid on my couch drinking chocolate milkshakes, numb on vicodin for 4-5 days..

My cheeks never swelled up, and i was completely fine besides the pain and soreness, which wasn't much at all, especially after popping the vikes

Of course they say that everyone has a different experience, but i'd say that if your wisdom teeth have already grown in (which was my case) then they're damn easy to remove, and you won't have much of a problem at all..

I hope they grow back in so i can have them removed again
