I was meant to get my wisdom teeth out years ago but they said it would cost $600. I didn't but haven't had any of the hurrendous problems the dentist predicted I would!![]()
True a lot of the doc's advise wisdom teeth to be removed, but in cases that they aren't removed I don't see many problems.
It's a painfull operation too, so it might not be worth it at all.

I actually never had mine out. They came in without pushing my other teeth forward so it's cool. One of the things that happens, though, is the enamel is naturally soft on them so they're more apt to have cavity/rotting issues. I haven't had any of those problems but they say when it starts happening they just yank em![]()

sharla, my dentist told me to have mine out about 4-5 years ago when i was in high school, and i JUST got them out in january of this year.. I would experience pain every now and again, and some swelling, but i lived with it.. until finally it got SO BAD that it just kept swelling larger and larger, it was actually scary.. I went to the dentist right away and made the appointment the following day to get them out.. It was the EASIEST and most OVERHYPED surgery.. It took him about 3 minutes to pull them out, and then i laid on my couch drinking chocolate milkshakes, numb on vicodin for 4-5 days..
My cheeks never swelled up, and i was completely fine besides the pain and soreness, which wasn't much at all, especially after popping the vikes
Of course they say that everyone has a different experience, but i'd say that if your wisdom teeth have already grown in (which was my case) then they're damn easy to remove, and you won't have much of a problem at all..
I hope they grow back in so i can have them removed again![]()
Well thanks for the info and advice RE wisdom teeth RP33, Hitmandonny and Pride of Boston. I'll keep that all in mind and probably will get them yanked one day when I start noticing problems and am feeling rich.
