It's been a while, but to the best of my recollection, the rules were "Stand up only, no kicking, no ground fighting." It was basically very poor and vague rules. Gannon heard no kicks, so he thought knees were okay (A big stretch) and stand up only, so why not standing guillotine, especially when the guy shoots on you.

All that matters is that Gannon took everything Kimbo could throw back then and still dealt out more than Kimbo could handle. That being said, Kimbo is FAR from the same fighter he was back then.

as new as kimbo is to the game, I actually think he's more talented than Sapp could ever dream of being. IMO, the only reason Sapp has lasted this long is because he is so brutally strong. I said this a long time ago... you can't get to where kimbo is without having spent some time in a real gym. The man has awesome power and is actually one of the more technically proficient stand-up fighters in mma already. you're right about Bas... in time Bas will make him awesome all around.
