That would be a pretty big conflict of interest though surely promoting your OWN next opponent.

How the hell could Forbes be expected to win when the guy he's fighting in the ring also owns his contract outside of it?

Well, I mean just because he's also the promoter doesn't really mean anything. He might get his fair shake on the ring size, gloves and stuff like that but the judges are selected by the commission and the reason Oscar has so many GBP vs GBP fights (Barrera - Juarez and Hopkins - Wright spring to mind as examples of guys who have stakes in GBP's ownership fighting other GBP fighters) is because that makes the contract stuff easier to work out.

I don't think it's to much of a conflict in interest.

What I mean is if Oscar promotes Steve Forbes and Forbes beats him and costs him a multi million dollar mega showdown rematch with Floyd, the just maybe Forbes won't be fighting in any big fights any time soon

hehe you're right Oscar has got his fingers in every pie!

Soon he'll be buying one of the major sanctioning bodies, then snapping up the Nevada State Athletic Commision before making a bid for HBO.

    He;s the Microsoft of boxing
