Yes i think he is over rated because his son is a top fighter , rather than his training ability.
I really cant stand him on interviews he sounds like he has a mouth full of MARBLES, and bullshit.

He's doing well, by far the most succesful trainer in the UK currently.
He had Calzaghe, Enzo, Rees as world champs, Bradley Pryce has been rejuvinated as well.
It seems like all trainers have good and bad periods

Bit like horses send them to a new trainer different surroundings different buz in the yard they do improve but once they are settled they find there level again. My husband tends to bet on horses that have just changed yards!![]()

Enzo's loss and Ress' loss basically came down to a lack of ability.....on the fighters side, not the trainers.
There's only so much a trainer can do.
He actually taught Joe to box, from a book. Taken him quite far really.

his fighters aren't having a good year, two losses both by ko, gary lockett is going to get ko'd which makes it three, the only chance he has so far of winning is with calzaghe.

He is a good trainer, and did deserve trainer of the year last year since his fighters didn't lose, and some actually overachieved.
He still needs to develope himself to be considered a great trainer, I don't think his general knowledge of the sport is close to the likes of Manny, Rees was making some pretty fundamental mistakes against Kotelnik.
