If you mean by "having everything in his favour" fighting in Britain then when did Hopkins last have everything NOT in his favour.

This fight wouldn't have even happened if Calzaghe hadn't accepted ALL Hopkins terms.

And Calzaghe had to go to Germany just a couple of years ago for his mandatory against Veit.
Hopkins was quite often the underdog in his fights. He has had the crowd against him on many occasions, fighting on opponents terms.

Name the last time Calzaghe did not have his choice of ref against a good opponent (not Veit) without a crowd who was on his side? Never?

You cannot accuse Hopkins of only fighting when things are in his favour. The man is 43, about 5 years past his prime, thats not in his favor to start with, and will have way more effect on the fight than any ref could.
Just because some people made Hopkins underdog doesn't mean he didn't have things in his favour.

I didn't even know Calzaghe CHOOSES his ref per fight Tell me more?

Calzaghe has fought to many a hostile crowd in England (my Welsh pals swear it)

Hopkins is 5 years past his prime and yes Calzaghe's win will mean... not much really, i know i know. But if Calzaghe loses he's exposed, right?

Not exposed to me. His record is too good to be exposed. Kessler was a top fighter, the demolition jobs he did on Mundine, Beyer and Andrade proved that. I think it'll take some gloss off his career, but he has done too much to be exposed.
Joe may not chose his refs, but most of his fights have been Warren promotions and i think Frank would get his ref of choice.

Answer your question? Im not a hater of Joe i just say it how i think it is.

OK eagle, you're not a Joey hater.. Just funny how you counter a "Hopkins has evertything in his favour" comment (which is obvious and true) with a "when has Joe not had everything in his favour"

Cortez was undeniably crap in the Hatton fight. Shouldnt play a part in this though. Not a factor IMO.

Personally I think Cortez Is too "Camera Conscious" at times and can get overly Involved at times. The early portions of Hatton/Mayweather were just terrible,All that Slapping the fighters...Gloves,Backs, Arms and when they closed quarters he was always Inserting himself as a factor.Chatty fella also.

He'll have his hands full here. Both Hopkins and Calzaghe know how to work A blind side and are not adverse to Bending the rules.Really I think they could care less about the ref,The level of genuine animosity and tension is emence.
