The main reason I hate drinking is because I get major hangovers last last for a couple of days cus I dont drink regulaly which means I cant preform or get 100% out of my training and that really pissed me off so I prefer to not drink.

I agree, I share the same experience as you . I'd stay clear of alcohol when training.

Exactly, I've cut down but probably will have to cold turkey for some time before competing. I feel after a drinking session, my training for the next two days is just to get me back up to the level I was before, so I feel I basically lose half a week when training and drinking, 3 steps forward then 2 back.

It's also very bad for recovery, your liver is pre-occupied with getting the poison out of your system when it should be repairing your body after training.

Well If you drink your kidneys and liver are busy filtering alcohol from your system.

Add that to boxers training and competition. The kidney and liver are meant to filter blood clots from bruising and clots which result from impact sports. If the kidneys and liver are too busy dealing with alcohol

I don't think it's what you drink, but rather how much you drink. Probably best to abstain completely while you are training.

....if you can't drink bourbon straight then you shouldn't be allowed to drink it

Shots or mixed it all depends on what I'm in the mood for at the time but if you are going to mix it(bourbon) or chase it Coke is the only way to go.
