Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.

Any one else hear him on Colin Cowherd. I heard him on Friday night fights and he said "Cotto needs to put up more pay per view fights before he can even get to fight money Mayweather." Mayweather is exactly how not to act if you want to get into heaven.

How was that a duck? Nobody with half a brain should see that as a duck. He is saying that Cotto needs to become more mainstream for the fight to happen. Mayweather was wrong to say Cotto hasn't proven himself, but he was right that Cotto isn't super huge outside of NY, boxing fans, and PR. IMO he, Cotto, should fight Oscar early 2009 and then that will open up Cotto-mayweather. OR hopefully if Cotto faces Mosley in a rematch, which Shane deserves, or the winner of margarito-Cintron... I think that winner deserves Mayweather. But Cotto just barely beat Mosley, and definitely didn't look very good those last few rounds, Mosley deserves a rematch, and the Cintron-Margarito winner deserves a crack at Cotto before that winner faces Mayweather.

I'm sure that Cotto would be willing to fight anybody in the world tomorrrow if he had the chance. But Bob Arum knows what he's doing by setting up Cotto's next two fights for him in order to maximize his earning potential for the impending showdown with Floyd. So it doesn't really matter what Cotto says in an interview because he's only gonna fight who Bob Arum tells him to fight. You'll notice that it's been a long time since you've heard Arum say anything about Cotto fighting Mayweather.



That's kinda how it works.
