Here in the Philippines, we all do it for free. hehehe.

However, if you really want something that is legally for free, try OPEN OFFICE. It works like microsoft office. I'm personally giving you a guarantee that it functions like microsoft office.

You might as well try LINUX as your operating system. I'm using Red Hat for my server and it's quite stable. I have not encountered any system breakdown so far for the past 5 years. Actually, I haven't encountered any virus attack in Linux.

Here's the link for Linux Ubuntu: Ubuntu Home Page | Ubuntu
Here's the link to Sun Microsystem. Sun is promoting openoffice.:OpenOffice.org

Here's the link to OPEN OFFICE:www: OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

OpenOffice is actually bundled in Linux Ubuntu. Meaning, if you install Linux ubuntu, you don't actually need to install openoffice anymore. It's already in there.

We are actually promoting the use of open source programs and it's like having a revolution against microsoft.

Sorry Pacstraight. Am not in Manila. The only way I can give you a copy of microsoft word is through the net. I can't use email coz of upload limit. Due to confidential reasons, I can't give you my website for downloading "RECTO" copies. I'll try to find a site where you can get "RECTO" copies.

    Please try open office first.

You can save your file in openoffice as .doc. It can be saved as Microsoft word.

Upon saving your file, click on the file menu 'Save as'. Then on the save as type part, choose Microsoft Word 98/2000/XP(.doc).

As easy as that. Just try it once bro. If you ain't contented, you can uninstall it immediately. No need to spend $200...

If you have any problem bro, just ask/PM me. I'm more than willing to help you.

I've been teaching the use of OpenOffice for quite some time already.

okay, I see your point now. Sometimes it changes. You should give your Professor a copy of the installer(or just give him the address of OPEN OFFICE) so that he will also install it in his computer.

OPEN OFFICE Writer is very light and it won't really consume much of his disk space.

If you're using Times new Roman as your font, I think the format will not change.

julius, if you are a student, and you're in college, you should have a bookstore, and you should see if they have Microsoft Office there..

my college has Office for $12.. you can buy it once a year, it's a steal.. they also have vista for $12..

    i'd check that out..

anyway, if that isn't the case WHO THE FUCK PAYS FOR ANYTHING nowadays..

    FUCKING DOWNLOAD IT!!

    DAMN

that's like some people i work with who are a few generations older than me, are all like "i got an itunes giftcard for my birthday, i get to go buy some songs".. i'm like, you actually buy songs?

cmon man.. in today's world if you're paying for software, music, and movies and you know how to use a computer, then you are a moron, end of story..

I work on a 1099 basis so I am always looking for a means to cut corners financially. I need info on making my car a Wifi hot spot to be able to speak to my international customers on Skype while I drive. I handle all of the US West Coast and Latin America/ Caribbean. So I need to use Skype for calls while driving in Southern California. Belkin or Linksys cordless phone ?
