I would be competely pretentious in my dinner guest pickings. I dont recall who I picked last time so I imagine it being some old and some new.
1) William Burroughs - Anyone who can describe language as a virus and use it as a means of expression is alright by my book
2) Alfred Hitchcock - Ive become a complete Hitchcock buff and have over 30 of his films on DVD now. Made a dozen films that are nothing less than exceptional
3) Van Gogh - Great painter and seemingly very volatile to boot. No absinthe at this dinner party!!
4) Noam Chomsky - The godfather of modern linguistics and has an opinion on every event of recent times.
5) Bill Murray - Perfect deadpan delivery. My favourite comedic actor alive today.
6) Peter Cook - Probably the greatest funny man ever.
7) Oscar Wilde - A slim line Steven Fry! Had some wit and a way with words.
Jean Paul Sartre - Exponent of existentialism and not afraid to venture forth opinions about issues of the day.
9) Liam Gallagher - Just so Chomsky can be proven wrong about the concept of Universal Grammar!Nah, Gallagher is just comical in all the wrong ways. God help us all if Van Gogh smuggles in some absinthe and shares it with this one.
10) Steve Coogan - Alan Partridge is sheer genious. Enough said.
