And raising taxes on energy and restricting the production of energy via taxes on the energy companies is not the way to go BECAUSE they aren't finding any substitutes for fossil fuels they are just making things tough now and not even worrying about what are we going to use in the future and to some extent you can't force this change to happen because finding and adapting to new kinds of fuels will take lots of time and effort.
There's plenty of oil for us for thousands of years and coal and natural gas and sunlight and wind and geothermal energy to use as well....these corn subsidies to produce ethanol and E85 are ridiculous and are already costing us plenty of money as farmers only want to grow corn now to get the government money.
Right now we should focus on converting the US to a nuclear energy run country which will really clean up.
