Margarito made a big fan out of me last night. I picked Cintron to pull off the win this time around, but Margarito just beat the everlovin shit out of him. A guy with that kind of chin, that kind of power, that kind of ferocity, that kind of stamina, and that kind of workrate is going to be hell for anyone. I don't believe he can beat PBF, but I would love to see the proposed Cotto/Margarito showdown, that has fight of the Decade written all over it.

Tony is a monster, but it's funny as if you would have asked me a while back I would have picked Tony to win against Cotto in a downright war. Now I'm not so sure. It's not cause' Cotto looked so good last night{he did} or that I thought Tony looked bad last night{he really didn't}; I just feel Tony will take a little more punishment than necessary.

Cotto is no Cintron in the fact Cotto won't crumble and started mentally leaving the fight after 3 or 4 rounds. Also, Cotto will make Tony pay for walking straight in to work the body; unless Tony last night just knew he could do as he pleased and get away with it from Cintron. If Tony can get and stay in on Cotto, the uppercuts will devastate Cotto, but if he 1/2 ass uses his jab to try and walk right in to Cotto; Miguel will jab him to death and hit Tony from angles IMO. Either way it will be maybe the most brutal fight on par with the Marquez/Vasquez wars.

This fight has to happen; my personal most anticipated fight maybe ever. Can anyone say trilogy with Cotto/Margarito? How sick would that be.

I'll copy and paste what i said in El Gamo's thread.

Yea your boy looked real good, his punches were still wide but he was combination punching and he was actually punching shorter which is good. He also totally ripped Cintron's body apart Cintron was actually doubling over as early as the 2nd round Cintron got totally dominated from the opening bell. I expected Cintron to lose in the 7th but i expected bit more resistance from Cintron.

I honestly think Margarito would for certain beat Williams in the rematch, Margarito is normally slow starter but he has started very fast in his last two fights, if he shows that aggression early against Williams should they rematch and he will for certain win IMO.

As for Cotto vs Margarito thats a pick em fight, Margarito has a good uppercut which is one of Cotto's biggest weaknesses, and plus i can't see Cotto beating Margarito in a brawl. Cotto's punches are shorter plus he has better boxing skills than Margarito so he can fight on the back foot and outbox Margarito, it just depends on how Cotto approaches the fight.

All these people they were disrespecting Margarito didn't have a clue about Margarito end of, the guy has made multiple defenses at Welterweight and when he lost to Williams he hadn't lost at Welterweight for almost a decade, not counting the Santo's fight because that was at Jr Middleweight and i think Margarito won that fight as well. Its about time people start realizing Margarito is actually a good fighter and is one of the top Welterweights in the world.

I agree in what is underlined ICB , but i think that in this fight , who would give the first big shot that is who going take the lead and put the respect in the Ring , we know that some times since Judah fight he tooks some uppercut shots , but he are getting better on that since the last two fights , is like we are been saying Cotto each time that comes to fight always comes with something new and different........That is good in a boxer......

I am in agreement with the general consensus here

I am not a fan of Margarito's. But I couldn't help but be in awe of the performance he put on last night. When he doesn't "start slow" he would be hellacious for anyone to get into the ring with.

The Tony that showed up last night was possessed. Cintron could've had a baseball bat in the ring with him and it wouldn't have helped.

To be honest, if Margarito fights Cotto like that, I see Cotto not lasting the distance. I know many will disagree, but I really dont see what Cotto could do to handle that type of assault. It would take a lot of left hooks to the body before Margarito would even register any pain, and a lot more to slow him down. Margarito is physically the toughest guy in the division, has good power, and when he goes on a nonstop assault round after round any type of fighter is going to have a hard time weathering that storm.

Yeah - Margarito was mightily impressive, and I got the feeling that Cintron is just made for him. Antonio has one hell of a chin and is a tough tough guy .... someone like Cintron, who is such a big hitter that he relies on it will always come unravelled by Antonio.

The immovable object beat the irresistible force last night.

To beat margarito, you either have to outslick him and win on points or you have to get his respect.

It will be a great fight against Cotto, and I would not discount Margarito breaking Cotto's heart as well?

Margarito's punches aren't as sharp as they could be, his chin is great but his defense leaves a lot to be desired, I think Miguel Cotto will not only beat him but STOP him.

KO-ing Gomez is very impressive considering Peter Manfredo a natural middleweight didn't even hurt Gomez.

I say Floyd Mayweather Jr. will wait to see who wins a Cotto-Margarito matchup to make his move....if Cotto wins by KO I figure Floyd will retire or he'd be better off retiring.

I think people are jumping the gun a little bit. I mean Margarito already beat Cintron, and Cintron has a weaker mind than Judah. I think Margarito definitely has a puncher's/Tua like chin chance against Cotto, but Cotto is so much better technically, he's tough as well, and if Margarito can't do more damage than Mosley or Judah then I can't see Margarito beating him. Cotto is so much faster, he punches so much straighter that I see this being a tough fight, but IMO Cotto is a far better fighter than Margarito, its just he doesn't maybe match up as well to Margarito. That being said I think other guys like Clottey would beat Margarito if he ever got a rematch.

I don't see that at all. Mayorga who is a bigger version of Margarito was absolutely TKFO by Oscar De La HOya, the first time anybody to my knowledge did that with headshots against Ricardo, but Mayweather wasn't scared at all to face Oscar who is very dangerous puncher. I mean Margarito used to be one of Oscar's sparring partners which Oscar didn't have all that much trouble with. That being said I can't see Cotto ko'ing Margarito... he almost didn't ko Judah, and he couldn't KO Malignaggi(or whatever), Ndou, Mosley, and other guys who are tough like Margarito even though he was landing bombs. However Cotto punches like Foreman in that he doesn't have a whole lot of snap to his punches, but he has more force behind his punches than anyone I see below 160, and that has an effect because it ruins his opponent's equilibrium when they are hit by him.

Hey Lyle , you are are been saying good point , everybody are been talking about Margarito power punch , but the intrigue point here is how can Margarito could assimilate Cottos power? We cant forget that , i think that Margarito have more flaws than Cotto........Cotto have showed , how can his chin assimilate , but Margarito do? and with who?

    I agree entirely.
Cotto and Margarito would be a War. One of these warriors has got to have what it takes to trouble PBF

I say if Cotto KO's Margarito then Floyd will most definantly retire and for good reason
